minimus, actually your "new light" is founded in the basis of old light. The Bible Students believed that the great crowd was a less righteous segment of the 144,000 and that both groups would be in heaven.

    Proclaimers Book page 161

For many years the Bible Students thought that this was the group described at Revelation 7:9, 14 (KJ), which refers to "a great multitude" that come out of great tribulation and stand "before the throne" of God and before the Lamb, Jesus Christ. They reasoned that although these shunned a life of self-sacrifice, they would be confronted with trials of faith ending in death during a time of tribulation after the glorification of the final ones of the bride of Christ. They believed that if these who were said to be of the great multitude were faithful at that time, they would be resurrected to heavenly lifenot to rule as kings but to take a position before the throne. It was reasoned that they would be given such secondary positions because their love for the Lord had not been sufficiently fervent, because they had not shown enough zeal. It was thought that these were people who had been begotten by Gods spirit but had been negligent about obeying God, possibly continuing to cling to Christendoms churches.
They also thought that perhapsjust perhapsthe "ancient worthies" who would serve as princes on the earth during the millennial era would, at the end of that time, somehow be granted heavenly life. (Ps. 45:16) They reasoned that a similar prospect might await any who "consecrated" themselves after the 144,000 Kingdom heirs had all been finally chosen but before the time of restitution on earth began.
The best way to tell a lie is to take something already accepted and known and twist it slightly. Good job. It is just something the WTS would do and has done. Blondie

    Hey Blondie & Minimus,

The slave will invite other faithful members of the Christian Congregation to join them in the work at hand in these last days. Therefore a composite slave will include both anointed and faithful members of non-anointed ones, proven men that can assist the older anointed in their life-saving work. Therefore, all experienced, faithful Christians can be viewed as the "servant" or Faithful slave".
The Christian Congregation has been in operation so that the slave can attend to the matters of sole importance in the Master's absence. Once the Memorial is celebrated, all those that are "faithful and discreet" will be members of the Christian Congregation. Their is reason to believe that the number, 144,000, is a literal number with a symbolic reference.Any that partake in a given year can be members of the 144,000. A total of 144,000 per year to partake is what the symbolism stands for.
Any that partake unworthily of the emblems will be viewed as members of the "great crowd" that are before the throne of God in heaven. To get to heaven, itself, they will have to change their earthly attitude and pray to God to become His children. Then and only then, can the brotherhood be part of the true faithful slave. Once the slave dies off, the Kingdom rule will occur on this earth. Being that we are in the very last of the last days, it would seem, God willing, that the end should be within this generation. - minimus
If the end does occur within the next 3 to 5 years this would be undeniable proof that the Faithful and Discreet Slave is indeed made up of 144,000 prophets of God. -minimus

Well, yeahhhhhhhh. "If the end does occur within the next 3 to 5 years" ------ wouldn't that be enough proof for anyone? Actually, "anyone" will be killed by God by then.....and JW's will have it proven by the Billions of Bodies decaying in front of them, eh?

Just thought I'd put the two ideas close together - showing that the WT might be going back to it's roots. Doesn't make it correct - just means that the Original Light was remade by New Light, which is again being remade with Newer New Light, which makes the Former New Light in error now and the Formerly Former New Light actually the New Light, again.

waiting - who thanks Minimus for allowing her to rearrange his fine post of Speculative New Light.

hi...im sorry to say this but each time we go to the assembly it is with the anticipation of something special and new. Even the big day when something grand and new was to come out in 1998 all it was, the admittance, they withdrew from the generation lie the told us to believe for the last 70years. i think this new special whatever annoucement is because there last prediction of 2000 millenium bringing the new order didnt come true there are now trying to stir there slacking attendance to attend and announce some New Light they have with another boring book rehashing the same old doomsday talk. Rumors have it that the year 2010 is supposed to be the new date because of some numerology of the aztec calander and egyption calander are suppose to end and turn around again. To keep everyone busy they need an expectation of things to come whether it be true or fabricated....***the mole***
