Its got to be Rage against the Machine, "Killing in the name of"

Just had the bassline to this song rumbling through my head, havent heard it for ages though

You need to know the chorus.

Hows it go,"&*^K You, I wont do what you told me" , or something like that.

"Forgiven" by Alanis Morrisette. The line that really makes me think of the JW's is . . .

"I confessed my darkest deeds to an envious man."

Losing My Religion by R.E.M. because this was a popular song that played during the time I was having very serious doubts.

    Losing My Religion R.E.M

    O h life is bigger,
    It's bigger than you
    And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
    The distance in you eyes
Oh No, I've said too much
    I set it up

T hat's me in the corner
    That's me in the spotlight
    Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh No, I've said too much
    I haven't said enough

I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

    E very whisper
    Of every walking hour
    I'm choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost blinded fool -fool
Oh No, I've said too much
    I set it up

    C onsider this, Consider this
    The hint of the century
    Consider this
The slip that brought me to my knees failed
What if all these fantasies come failing around?
    And I've said too much

I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

B ut that was just a dream
    That was just a dream
But that was just a dream
    Try, cry, why? Try
    That was just a dream
    Just a dream
    Just a dream

Well, when I'm feeling rebellious, I crank up, "If It Feels Good, Do It" by Sloan. I know how much my father would hate it just for the name of it; so when I hear it, I crank it up and sing it at him, even though he's nowhere near me. :D

I don't know if I've ever come across a song that sums up my experience within the Borg, though. I'll have to give that some thought. :)

**edited to add: there is a song out right now called "Bother", I can't remember who sings it but it has a line in it that says "Stones to throw at my creator, the masochist to whom I cater", and that line resonates with me for some reason.

Abaddon wrote a version of All Along the Watchtower a few years back. It starts out kinda sorta like this:

    All along, the Watchtower
    Told a pack of lies
    Broken hearts and promises
    So much wasted time

I can't think of one for myself, but I'll bet J. R. Brown's song is "Lawyers, Guns and Money."

    PIECES OF DREAMS
    Little boy lost
    In search
    Of little boy found
    You go on wondering, wandering
    Stumbling, tumbling
    'Round. . . 'round. . .
    When will you find
Whats on the tip of your mind
    Mmm...Why are you blind
    To all you ever were
    Never were
    Really are
    Nearly are
    Little boy false
    In search
    Of little boy true
    Will you be ever done
    Traveling
    Always unraveling
    You, . . you. . .
    Running away
    Could leave you farther astray
And as for fishing in streams
    For pieces of dreams
    Those pieces will never fit
What is the sense of it
    Little boy blue
Don't let your little sheep roam
It's time come blow your horn
    Meet them on
    Look and see
Can you be far from home...
