Why So Many Magazines?

Why does the Watchtower have to print so many different magazines every two weeks? The truth is out since over 2000 years, and the truth didn't change since the time of Jesus. So why does the Watchtower have to give us the latest version of the truth every 2 weeks?

What would happen to the Watchtower Society, if witnesses would stop buying new literature every week, and would go to the hall with old Watchtower magazines instead?

Two things would happen. First, They would stop making money off people, and they would have to shut down many buildings in Brooklyn and elsewhere. Second, people wouldn't want to go to the meetings anymore, because they already studied those watchtower magazines.

This means that the Watchtower could not survive with the bible only. This seems to contradict what is written in 2 Timothy 3:16, which says, All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work" (Revised Standard Version).

To gain converts, and in their later years.....add to that........ to get more dough.

Its a great scam. Make the publishers contribute for the mags when they pick them up, and then make them fork over any contributions they get out in the field. Oh ya, have the publishers use their own vehicles and gas too. As payment to publishers, we'll let them count the time.

Rank and File 'hovahs would say, "New light! We need the rags for new light."

you must be kidding; new light is constantly forthcoming, don't believe anything too strongly, it may change overnight.

A lot of the new light is repackaged old light with a new magazine cover. I mean how many times can you discuss your dedication to Jehovah and his organization without saying the same old thing?

At 32 pages, twice a month, for 123 years (I know, the mags weren't always on this frequency), they have printed 188,928 unique pages of WTs and AWs. This does not include books, tracts, KMs, and other assorted drivel.

They claim that their mags are "Bible Aids". The Bible is around 1350 pages long. That means that their "aids" are 150 times longer than the book they are supposedly based on.

Now, let's consider how many of these books are outdated and unusable. With every year of age, the book or mag becomes more obsolete. How could you study a book that focuses on the generation with a new person, or one that explains one of the old blood doctrines. Really, only the publications from the last decade, and selected ones from earlier are still any good. So, close to 90% of their output is garbage, even by their own definition.

As the proverb says, "To the making of many books, there is no end, and much devotion to them is wearisome to the flesh."

It's a great business - produce low quality output on a shoestring budget, guarantee sales to a captive market, and build in obsolescence.

Yes, but you must realize new light comes also by 2/3rds vote from the big boys.

Since more emphasis is put on reading the society's literature than the bible, then they are adding to the bible, with their literature.

By selling new magazines and books every week, they are actually adding to what is written in the bible. Doesn't this also contradict Revelation 22: 18,19

    18. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the book of this prophecy, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.

    19. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
