  Heres a passage frtom a WT. That of August 1, 1993.

  Article : "Jehovah, my confidence from Youth on"

  Its one of those accounts by a faithfull aged one who has given 70 years slaving for the org. Lol. The question is, is he telling the truth? Is he lying? Or is he Half lying? Id be interested in your opinions. Unfortunately, only those who have read an old book called the "Harp of God" can answer

  QUOTE...."The year was 1920 ; the place, the hills of Arcadia in beautiful Peloponnisos, Greece. I was in bed, seriously ill with the dreaded Spanish influenza that was sweeping the world.

  EACH time the church bell rang, I realized that it announced the death of another victim. Would I be next? Fortunately, I recovered, but millions did not. Although I was then only eight years old , this frightening experience still lives vividly in my memory.

  One day when I was about 12 , my father received a book from his brother who lived in the United States. It was entitled TheHarpof God , published by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. I looked down the table of contents, and my eyes lit up when I saw the chapter "Our Lord's Return." I read it with great interest, but I was disappointed that no year was given for the return. The book, however, indicated that it was not far off.......

  Almost certainly false. When the boy was 12, it would have been in 1924. At that time the Society was making loud predictions that 1925 was going to be "IT". However, I don't feel like rummaging through a 1924 edition of Harp, so you tell me.

  Im asking you.Lol.

  Im inclined to say (but not willing to risk my life on it) that in 1924 "Harp" would still be saying Christ returned in 1874. Thus the Old boy is in error.I'll have a look thru my version of Harp and see. Thgough I think its a 21 version. I used to have quite a number of examples of this kind of thing in the WT. But Ive only got this one left. If anyone else has an example Id be most interested to look.

  The harp had an entire chapter devoted to the lord return and mentioned time and time again 1874!!!!!!

  when it came out it had the subtitel : conclusive proof that millions now living will never die (or something very simular)

  Applying the same rule, then, of a day for a year, 1335 days after 539 A.D. brings us to A.D. 1874, at which time, according to Biblical chronology, the Lord's second presence is due. If this calculation is correct, from that time forward we ought to find some evidences marking the Lord's presence.

  page 231:

  "The time of the end" embraces a period from A.D. 1799, as above indicated, to the time of the complete overthrow of Satan's empire and the establishment of the kingdom of the Messiah. The time of the Lord's second presence dates from 1874, as above stated.

  page 234:

  It was in the year 1874, the date of our Lord's second presence

  ...since 1874, as further evidence of the Lord's presence since that date

  His presence beginning in 1874, he [Jesus] has carried on his harvest work from 1878 forward....

  The end of the gentile rule, therefore, would mark necessarily the end of the present order; therefore the the end of the world. We should expect then, to find 1914 as the beginning of the end of the old world or order of government. And that this would definitely take place during the presence of the Lord he definitely stated.

  The kid mustn't have read too much of the chapter then.

  a Purpose in Life in India"

  QUOTE ......"After the war ended in 1918, there was no work available in England, so I rejoined the army and went off to India as part of the peacetime garrison. In May 1920 the malaria flared up again, and I was sent up into the hills to recuperate. There I read all the books I could get my hands on, including the Bible. Reading the Scriptures intensified my interest in the Lord's return.

  Months later, down in Kanpur, I started a Bible study group, hoping to learn more about the Lord's return. It was there that I met Fredrick James, a former British soldier who was now a zealous Bible Student. He explained to me that Jesus had been present since 1914, invisible to man. This was the most thrilling news I had ever heard. My first urge was to get out of the army. The bloodshed and death of the European war had disgusted me. I wanted to be a peaceful missionary and preach this good news about Christ's presence........

  The Next paragraph says:

  ...."In late 1921, I was transferred back to England".....

  So Grampas Bible study must have been BEFORE 1921 . Lol

  The Latter part of "the time of the end" Jesus designates as a time of harvest, because he says: "The harvest is the end of the world (age)". He stated that he would be present at that time. From 1874 forward is the latter part of that period of "the time of the end". From 1874 is the time of the Lord's second presence, as above stated.
