Steve2. That is a carefully crafted sentence. Such words in WT speak, mean..." Yes, we are respecting your' right to have your' say. Your Honour. However, we will never allow what you are trying to convey to us, to take up residence in our perfect spiritual arrangement which can only be efficiently done by .......men!!!"

    could be helpful

What is hypocritical about the Watchtower is that they pick and choose whatever scriptures they want. Yes, women can't have teaching positions but they can comment in the meetings even though the Apostle Paul said that he would not allow a woman to speak in church.

34 Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. - 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 New International Version

This is pretty sad coming from a religion that teaches that women will rule in heaven one day, used a woman (Catholic) expert and had a woman lawyer sitting front and center on camera every day of the hearings.

Not to mention examples from the very same Bible they are using to supposedly show why women cant be involved in any judicial hearings.

What about Deborah? Jael? Why did they include that information about Zenobia in one of the book study publications (Daniel book?)

Don't forget Abigail who disobeyed her husband and saved the lives of all in her household.

While it is correct to say that most men are like women in the organization in that they too have no real power or say, potentially at least, men can "make it" to positions of power over others in local congregations. Men, unlike women, are not intrinsically excluded because of their gender. So, it's a tad fallacious to put most men in the same powerless lot that women intrinsically occupy.

Of course, there are proportionally more women than men in the JW organization, a circumstance also reflected throughout practically all religious groups. In Western countries, there are as many as two females to every one male, and in Japan there are close to 4 female JWs to one male JW, reflecting the fact that religious devotion is a predominantly female commitment.

it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. - 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 New International Version version " and----37"--these are the LORD'S commandment". LOL

'A taste of woman's [indirect] rule. 'Jezebel et al'. next week's bible reading 1 Kings 21, 22--so:

There are currently 22 female (non male) world leaders. Merkel the most remarkable one. so, ladies,

leave wt religion to the men, if you want to chew the wt cud, please do not regurgitate wt wonkiness at the meetings.

You have a mark to make in the real "worldly" world. Think of Dr. Kelsley that stopped Thalidomide.

A search on the WT library with the words 'approach mature sister' brought up 2 results, one from a KM which said a sister could approach another sister to give her opinion about her clothing.

The other comment was this from the W 1973 9/15. It is under the title 'Breaking free from SELF abuse'. Guess what the self-abuse is? Yep, masturbation. However it does set a precedent.

Some persons find it most difficult to discontinue the habit abruptly. So, when they occasionally relapse—usually in a state of semiconscious sleep—they develop deep feelings of guilt and of being unworthy of Jehovah’s mercy. For these reasons it is not only helpful but often advisable to seek the aid and encouragement of a Christian elder. When a girl has the problem she may want to approach either an elder or a mature, respected Christian sister for help.—Titus 2:2-4.

    Titus 2:2-4 states

2 Let the aged men be moderate in habits, serious, sound in mind, healthy in faith, in love, in endurance. 3 Likewise let the aged women be reverent in behavior, not slanderous, neither enslaved to a lot of wine, teachers of what is good; 4 that they may recall the young women to their senses to love their husbands, to love their children

Seems to me that this supports teaching and shepherding in the congregation, but only between females.

    Watchtower 91 7/1 states this

Our review of women mentioned in the Bible has enabled us to see that age does not prevent women of faith from serving Jehovah. This fact was illustrated in the cases of Sarah, Elizabeth, and Anna. Today, there are many Christian women advanced in years who are fine examples of faith and endurance. In addition, they can discreetly back up the elders by helping the younger sisters. Drawing on their long experience, they can give wise counsel to younger women, even as the Scriptures authorize them to do. (Titus 2:3-5)
