I would suggest with the limited information at this stage that your actions be dependent on your position. if you are overwhelmed by a fear of a cold rejection then just ask him incognoito "with whom he would most like to reunite " or you do not fear rejection then make it easier for him by transmitting a message that expects an easy reply. i.e. be humble
