Just a point to consider for those who think lack of energy is all in the mind. You do not actually have much mental control over how much energy your muscels can use. This is a bit like smiling , you cant fake a smile because you dont control those muscles.Anyway the body keeps you from using energy all at once and spreads it out over time, so that you don't use it all entirely. In extreme situations of stress you can gain access to hidden resrves of strength when extra energy is realsed by your body for use.The potential energy in our body is much higher than what we normally use.If for example you recieve an electric shock this can send you flying across a room. This is due to the muscles contracting with all their force( just dont let it happen in the palm of your hand as it will grip onto the the electric source and wont be able to let go)much more than you could ever summon mentally.

The point being that energy levels can vary between humans, and is not governed much by will power. It stands to reason that some people will suffer from having less energy than others and this can be worsened due to other factors.

ME was first known in the as Yuppie Fever, (A Yuppie was a young wiz kid in the late 80s early 90s) this was said to do with all the work related stress that they had from the stock/money market.

You can understand how JWs also get this aliment, what with all the stress of living up to all that is demanded from you as JWs. Im thinking of, do more, pioneer, meetings, guilt of not being worthy, gossip, pre-study, FS, the fear of losing Gods favour, and all the other pit falls of being a JW.

No wonder many Jws are depressed and ill, it makes you being a JW.

As a child I was very sickly with severe fatigue, muscle cramps, and weak muscles. My arms and hands were so weak that I had a lot of difficulty using a hole punch on school lunch cards. In fifth grade I missed 5 months out of approximately 9 months of school. I had tutors and homework and was exceptionally bright, but I eventually gave up school at age 16 because of the lack of support by my high school to support special education programs back then. I took my GED at age 18 and passed with flying colors before my class actually graduated.

I had plenty of visits to the doctors all over and even specialists in the OHSU hospital. I was poked, prodded, enemaed, and x-rayed to death and still no cure. Any doctor that thought I should seek psychiatric help was instantly rejected by my mom as a snobbish, arrogant, and close-minded member of the A.M.A. Little did I know that they were the closest to the truth about my condition than anyone.

My mother tried every quack remedy she came across. It wasn't till I grew up and started to resolve some internal mental and emotional conflicts did I finally started to overcome my psychosomatic illness. These were very real symptoms, and yes they did get me out of going to the dreaded meetings and field service, but that was not a conscious decision on my part. I was very mentally depressed, and these mental anxieties (many of them related to JW issues) played havoc with my young body physically. I didn't realize it, but I was actually thinking myself sick.

So there you have my experience, for what it's worth. I imagine that there are others out there too with similar physical problems related to being raised in a cult. Based on my experience, I find it hard to judge these other persons. It could be they are going through a similar kind of hell.

It's just that I also have that illness in my family but the difference with Alzheimers is that it is a degenerative disorder which affects older persons and leaves clearly damaged parts of the brain whereas most people with ME recover and are young and show no such biological deterioation.

I knew of 2 people within the Borg Borg, that has this pseudo disease. And it all stemmed from an abrupt change in their FINANCIAL situation. From riches, back to rags & welfare. Due to stupid, consecutive bad decisions. i.e. "I think I'm gonna pioneer"
