snip>:"...spokesman at the company's New York headquarters, Victor Beaudet, said the abductees were not employees or official Avon representatives."

If this is indeed the case (fact), why is television news reporting that they were IN FACT, Avon representatives, and NOT the FACT (case) that they ARE Jehovah's Witnesses, NOT Avon reps, as stated by New York headquarters? Wait, which 'NYH' are they speaking of here?

I can here them now: "persecution, persecution! So we harbor and protect pedophiles...we are being persecuted by terrorists". Wait, isn't the cult a terrorist camp of sorts in it's own right?

Isn't it ironic, doncha think? A little too ironic, I really do think.

sKally, popping Victor into the search engine klass

The identities of the abducted are Nori Bendijo, Cleofe Bantolo, Flora Bantolo, Lurimil Bantolo, Lionel Mantic and Emily Mantic...Bendijo had stayed in Bolo for 20 years and the others were residents of nearby Zamboanga City. They apparently are all Filipinos. More details in the article "Abu Sayyaf seizes 6 Christian preachers. Jehovah Witnesses in Muslim area" at:

What's really, really sad about this is that our guys are over there and many, many soldiers from various places will face the possibility of dying to protect this group who has no respect whatsoever for them, for us, for the nations involved, for the 'causes' involved or for the trouble they have caused and will probably continue causing as this moves forward.

On the bright side, if you ever wanted to make a kidnapper miserable, leaving them stuck with a handful of self-righeous JWs is about the best you can do. Muslims REALLY don't like JWs. Even reasonable, ordinary Muslims.

(Please note that Avon has also disavowed them. Probably just marching to their own little tune, as usual. And everybody else is supposed to pay for it)

Dia, when earlier tourists, oil well workers, doctors, nurses, UN aid personnel etc. have been abducted by this or similar groups, have you had the same attitude towards these as well, that quote "Probably just marching to their own little tune, as usual. And everybody else is supposed to pay for it." ? Do you feel that when there is unrest in an area, everybody should move out and let the terrorists just take control of the area, and should the inhabitants and others not be allowed to continue with their usual chores? Is not that exactly what these terrorists are after - provokating a militarization of the area in which they are active and through that make people sympathise with them?
