Watchtower will not lose its tax exempt status in the U.S.

Unless all churches and charities should lose their tax exemptions as well.

The biggest impact to the WT if they ever lost their tax exempt status would be in property taxes. They may be able to show a loss - but property taxes; everyone pays.

John Aquila - "What would happen if the Watchtower loses their tax-exempt status?"

There are a number of wealthy JW or WT-connected businessmen - i.e. financial backers - who would no longer be able to get tax breaks on their donations to the Society.

To protect their property in Mexico, didn't the WTS become an educational group not religious? Until the Mexican laws changed.

They would be hit with property taxes and in the UK at least, their contributions would be down by 20% at a stroke.
