Hey Comf, I had a question, I answered where the light was brighter, it got answered here. Thanks for all your help. I think I might go post to one of slightly the older threads where the superiority of Linux and Windows for server enviroments was being debated after I'm done here. Does that fall under the realm of technical novice that is ok to discuss here? Also, how to do a simple fade is not an advanced question. Its actually very basic in Flash. I'm just learning that program so I don't know how to do quite a bit of stuff in it. Syn's answer certainly wasn't anything advanced but it was certainly enough to get me by and his help (as in giving me an answer instead of blasting me for asking a basic question) was greatly appreciated. I apologize if my looking in a more convenient place was a waste of time for you when you could be reading many other threads but at least one other person here was kind enough to answer a Flash newbie's basic question.
Syn, I've seen pornos with guys with two weenies. That's just weird. So, sorry, but you won't be getting two weenies. If you happen to notice any growth (as in it gets bigger, not as in you looked at Jennifer Lopez) then you'll see my token of appreciation for answering a technical question that may have been more appropriate on a Macromedia forum but was more convenient for me to ask here. You saved me time and energy so I could actually do more work instead of finding the more appropriate forum, registering there, getting to know people so that I don't offend a new group by asking a rather simple question about something they're quite knowledgable about.

Well, development tools aren't exactly my strongest point, at all, but from what I've seen, heard, and read the .Net stuff is pretty impressive. What I can say from experience, however, is that if I had to choose between anything from Sun or Microsoft for a networking enviroment I'll take MS any day of the week. Believe it or not (and despite what has been posted around the net) dad and I are actually very pro-MS. They didn't get as big and powerful as they are by making crappy products. Sure, Windows has its various flaws but in comparison to any other OS it really hasn't had more than its fair share of problems and on top of everything its VERY easy to do stuff it. I know that may not exactly be the most important thing to those out there that are computer savy but those of you who are very computer savy and want to control an OS down to the kernel level aren't exactly what Microsoft is worried about. Not only that but most of the Windows stuff is fairly standardized across the board. Just looking at it from a support level I'd much rather have a group of plain beige boxes that don't have much variation over dozens of various Linux flavored boxes out there.
As for the browser wars that MSIE won by a mile, I absolutely love IE and wouldn't trade it for Navigator for anything. Just in my own pesonal observations IE is quicker, more stable, and MUCH easier to write code for.
Don't worry Simon, .Net will always be better than any Sun stuff.

Hey, you can do it for yourself if you know how to do it right. Start of by yelling "Hey Spanky!!!!" and then speak in pig latin. I don't know why dad needs me to translate everything for him. I think its just some sort of punishment because I once pulled down his pants in front of a group of people. Jerk.
