*** w65 7/1 391 What Is Required to Understand the Bible? *** He does not impart his holy spirit and an understanding and appreciation of his Word apart from his visible organization.

*** w67 10/1 587 Finding Freedom with Jehovah's Visible Organization *** Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible. For this reason the Bible cannot be properly understood without Jehovahs visible organization in mind.

*** w81 2/15 19 Do We Need Help to Understand the Bible? *** We all need help to understand the Bible, and we cannot find the Scriptural guidance we need outside the faithful and discreet slave organization.

*** w81 8/15 28-9 Serving Jehovah "Shoulder to Shoulder" *** They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home. But, strangely, through such Bible reading, they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by Christendoms clergy were teaching 100 years ago, and some have even returned to celebrating Christendoms festivals again, such as the Roman Saturnalia of December 25! Jesus and his apostles warned against such lawless ones.

    i rest my case.

    anyone care to cross examine?

Well according to the "watchtower" I don`t even need a bible.

How about this, what does the bible say about a watchtower?

Or better yet, what does the bible say about a publishing co.?

How about this, what does the bible say about a watchtower?

    "For the palace will be forsaken, the populous city deserted;
the hill and the watchtower will become dens for ever"

Or better yet, what does the bible say about a publishing co.?

"The sayings of the wise are like goads, and like nails firmly fixed are the collected sayings which are given by one Shepherd.
My son, beware of anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end.."

    a couple of things

*** pe 53 5 Is the Bible Really from God? *** 20 So anyone who says that the Bible does not contain the same information as when it was originally written simply does not know the facts. Jehovah God has seen to it that his Word has been protected not only from mistakes copyists made but also from attempts of others to make additions to it. The Bible itself contains Gods promise that his Word would be kept in a pure form for us today.

anyone care to comment on things the watchtower "changed" in the bible?????

Of course, the WTBS found the "mistakes" where the copyists left out the name "Jehovah"...

What a laugh... by there very own words they condemn themselves.

I also liked this one, because I allways looked at it as a slam at the Russel era folks:

They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home.

Since, until Rutherford, Christmas and other "festivals" were just fine.

This was also prior to when the WTBS was "forced" to acklnowledge their roots with Russell...

Ah, the information age, how grand it is!

The wt has been found guilty, condemned with it's own words. The punishment: burning in hell eternally. Demons will lead away the prisoner and deliever it to the infernal one for execution of the sentence.

    Court dismissed. Tennis, anyone?

They read those exaact excerpts from the WT when a friend was accused of apostacy for reading the bible and just talking about it. Some guy who had it in for him started the accusations, and that was it for him. It was allowed to be dropped because he was part of a powerful JW family, but safe to say no one even says hello to him anymore.

*** Rbi8 Hebrews 1:5-6 *** 6 But when he again brings his Firstborn into the inhabited earth, he says: And let all Gods angels do obeisance to him.

    New International Version (NIV)

    Hebrews 1
6 And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says,
"Let all God's angels worship him.
