Funeral Discourse

This is just so sad. I had the unfortunate experience to be at one such Witness funeral a couple of months ago.

I couldn't help but notice the shameless plugging for the religion that was so obviously being done.

When they got to the part about plugging the field service arrangement, my eyes almost started welling up in anger.

This old sister was truly a good woman, no doubt there were a myriad of things about her that could have been talked about,

but instead they had to give us a sermon on things that we already knew. If I were a non-Witness vistor, I would be disgusted.

Its more of a WTBS salespitch than a funeral discourse.

    How gross

This is the outline for a funerl talk for JW's. 99% of elders follow it to the letter and some even

try to read every scripture. Try to do that in 30 minutes. As you will note there is little time

develoted to remembering the deceased, generally less than 2 minutes. Then the speaker gets to count

his time from there as it is basically a door-to-door presentation.
