Simon: HOW TO BE A RURAL CANADIAN!!!

Say "eh" (pronounced ay) after every sentence ...as in "damn cold eh?"
Drink beer, and while drinking say "eh" after every swallow:)
Wear flannel and blue jeans, topped off by a baseball cap.
When working hard on something tell people you are "just given'er eh?"
    Hunt and ice fish
Listen to country music or alternatively ACDC.
Take great pride in never having visited "Tarrannaaaa..." (Toronto) or "Vancooooooverrrrr" (Vancouver).
Enjoy being down to earth and hard working, eat lots of barbecue, bear, moose and deer.

I thought I was supposed to pronounce it "tronno" ?
My dad lived in Fort McMurry for a long time which is north Alberta...way too cold for us weedy English folk
We plan on moving around Calgary / Lethbridge ares if we can. I hope to get special dispensation so I don't have to listen to country music though (or will Shania do?)
It's true about the 'eh / ay' after everything:
The guide on a boat trip in Waterton had a story of how Canada got it's name - they filled a bag with the letters of the alphabet and three people pulled letters out. The first pulled out a 'C' and said 'C...ay'...the second got 'N..ay' and the third 'D...ay'...and so the nation of C-a-N-a-D-a was formed...

I stumbled upon this thread when doing a search, sorry to dredge it up but I think its classic. I actually always looked forward to the assemblies because they were like our family vacations every year and being that we were in a spanish congregation it usually meant going somewhere at a few hours away. My favorite thing was staying at the hotels, going to the pool, eating out. One time when I was about 12 or 13 we had to go to montreal for the assembly and a friend and i stumbled upon a hardcore porn channel on the regular cable, needless to say we made up excuses as to why we didnt want to go to eat with everyone else. the actual assemblies were fun cause my little gang of friends would walk around after the finest girls even though we never had the balls to talk to them, find excuses to go to the bathroom. once i got into my rebellious stage i would even just go outside and do laps around the hall. all in all a good time.
