    Comf,

I,ve got my own platter but a sound bite would be greatly appreciated!

    (a) I have seen the morning burning golden on the mountain of the skies

Aching with the feeling of the freedom of an eagle when she flies

Turning on the world the way she smiled upon my soul as I lay dying

Healing as the colors in the sunshine and the shadows of her eyes

Waking in the morning to the feeling of her fingers on my skin

Wiping out the traces of the people and the places that I've been

    (2) On a Sunday morning sidewalk

Wishing Lord that I was home

'Cause there's something 'bout a Sunday

    Makes a body feel alone

And there's nothing short of dying

Half as lonesome as the sound

As a sleeping city sidewalk .....

    (C) We were so close there was no room

We bled inside each others wounds

We all had caught the same disease

We all sang the songs of peace

Some came to sing, some came to pray

Some came to keep the dark away

Sorry, those are a little long to be called snippets but i was singing as i was typing.

Ven....Don't Fence Me In.....lotsa versions,I'm thinking maybe the Son's Of The Pioneers first...

Mac...#1-Loving Her Was Easier Than Anything I'll Ever Do Again...Kris Kristofferson was first,I think...I like Willie Nelsons version myself.

#2-Sunday Morning Coming Down-Johnny Cash (I love that song)

    Mac:

    a) Loving Her Was Easier (Than Anything I'll Ever Do Again) - Kris Kristofferson

    b) Sunday Morning Coming Down - Kris K, and I beg to differ... the line is "Wishing, Lord, that I was stoned"

I suspect that third one is a Kris K song, too, but I don't recognize it.

Edited to add: I see that Cowboy beat me to it, so I want to note that Kristofferson was the songwriter for both those tunes. Kris had a voice like a billygoat with laryngitis, which is why you never hear him on the radio; but he was a hell of a songwriter and virtually everybody who was anybody in country music in the sixties/seventies did at least one of his songs.

    Cowboy,

You Got it on (a) and (b). I'm partial to Kristoffersons version of "Loving Her..." He also wrote "Sunday Morning...) but when it comes to singing it, Johnny owns it! Question for you: Do you know if Ken Curtis (Festus on Gunsmoke) was once a member of the Sons of the Pioneers? I'm thinking yes, but am not certain.

Aw, ain't this a shame? I mean, boy, this is a flop-down, kickin', squallin' SHAME that none of you guys can recognize "Dude Looks Like a Lady" by Aerosmith.

So never judge a book by it's cover
Or who you're going to love by your lover
Love put me wise to her love in disguise
She had the body of a venus
    Lord imagine my surprise
