FusionTheism: It makes no sense to simultaneously say that the Society doesn't want the average JW to know about the problems of the past Society, and THEN at the same time to say that the Society is intentionally telling these JWs about these problems, making them aware of them

This is a tactic used by shrewd politicians. In an attempt to take the sting out of a shocking expose that he knows will inevitably come, a shrewd politician might preempt the breaking of the news by mentioning the incident, carefully spinning it to portray himself as humble and transparent while at the same time giving the impression that it isn't a very big deal by using euphemisms.

When he does this, he has already introduced the public to the issue - on his terms - and prepares the way to categorize any future exposes on the issue by his critics as a vindictive, exaggerated attack bringing up an issue that he has already spoken about openly. He styles himself as the humble, honest man who publicly bared his past fault and is now being victimized by vindictive and slanderous critics, out to sensationalize the issue and destroy his character.

One of the most important roles for the GB is instill the appealing notion that they are not voluntarily involved in practicing false religion inspired solely upon literature proliferation endeavors.

From out that realization, is it any wonder why the GB heads are unremitting that true bible interpretation only comes from them and only them ?

There is an image they are subjectively avowed to uphold, when they take on this position within the organization.

Look what happened to Ray Franz a one time GB member when he tried to change the inner doctrines out of honesty and personal integrity ? whacked, booted out, beheaded, muzzled ... comes to mind

If the original expressed doctrines created the framing foundation of this organization (1914), one should be duly cautious of removing these foundational doctrines for in doing one could produce calamitous results.

A metaphorical crumbling down of a built up Watchtower if you will.

A Watchtower that was built up by mere men not by god or any associated connection with god.

Its the GB duty and responsibility today like in the past to make sure this Watchtower stays erect.

For the sake of themselves as well many others who live from the proceeds of this subsequently pretentious spiritual tower.

Couldn't have put it better myself.
