Johnamos : you have made some valid points. Parents should be also held accountable for not reporting. But the biggest culprit is the organization that fosters that environment.
Do not underestimate the power of indoctrination. The parents trusted that the" spirit appointed" elders would take care of everything.
There have been members here that have experienced first hand the results of going against the elders and reporting.
Maybe when cases are made public, the JWs will realize it is not an isolated occurrence. Since these cases are handled so secretly most r&f has never even know how things are handled and covered up.
