Child sex abuse cases mentioned at weekly meeting?

I think there is an increased awareness in recent decades.

Previous generations naively thought that pedophiles were a tiny minority of strang- looking men that you could pick out of a crowd.

Children's complaints tended not to be believed. It was a more deferential society where people in authority and celebrities were above scrutiny.

The past is catching up. I was talking to a prison warden a while ago - he was handcuffed to an old man in the next hospital bed to me - and he commented on an aging prison population as historical crimes are increasingly being detected and brought to court.

The Watchtower arrogantly thinks it is above the law.

I agree with your comments but still disagree with BOTR's words - the public has never condoned paedophilic behaviour. I would have to be shown hard evidence to change that view.

'The Watchtower arrogantly thinks it is above the law' - absolutely spot on, IMO. Hopefully negative publicity, huge cash payouts and JWs discovering TTATT will have WTS in serious trouble for the foreseeable future.
