"Which generation is this? Why, the one that saw the beginning of fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy. That means people alive in the year 1914. How many remain? Based on the most recent statistics available, in 1980 only 259 million people 65 years or older were alive. Many of these have died since 1980. Those born around the historic year 1914 are now 70 years old, and others alive in 1914 are in their 80’s, 90’s and even a few in their 100’s. But their number is dwindling fast." - Awake! October 22, 1984 page 7

Currently, there are less than 300,000 people in the world who were alive in 1914...

This means that Armageddon could be just a few weeks away...

How fitting it would be for this momentous occasion to occur on the 100th anniversary of Jesus' rulership... October 2, 2014

It does seem as though it would be the appropriate time for god to act!

Armageddon is not of our time period. It is of the time period of after Christ future 1000 year kingdom will have ended.

This another WT spawned "false prophecy" that will not occur.

News Flash: We are no where near the last days.

If you were in the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki - World War II - imagine what that was to the people in those bombings?

Many are too quick to direct themselves based off of a date Jesus said cannot be known. This is one of those many "invisible shackles" many are bound by.

If Jesus said, "YOU do not know on what day YOUR Lord is coming" then one certainly cannot know when Armageddon will be.

Many are slaves to dates. The 1914 date will be one of the primary reasons why the Watch Tower organization will dry up. It will not be by man's doing, it will be by God's doing. False utterances and teachings will fade away, the truth is all that will stand. The 1914 date is a false date.

My former Brethren think that the 1914 date came out of "God's so-called Earthly Organization." Most of them do not know that it did not. It was the Second Adventist who originated the date back in the late 1800s. Charles Taze Russell was a Second Adventist and when he broke away from that movement to set up his International Bible Students Association, he borrowed that teaching.

Now if God has always had a Faithful Slave on the earth by which he used to feed the domestics the truth, were the Second Adventist that Faithful Slave since 1914 came from them? Yet, here we have a major teaching - 1914 - upon which almost all WT prophetic teachings hinge upon NOT of Watch Tower origination. It did not come out of the so-called Earthly Organization. So what is wrong with this picture?

No, 1914 like all other dates will fail because Christ told us to be "watchful" because we do not know when he is coming. If one knows when the Master is coming what need is there to be watchful?

That 1914 has been established as the date Christ returned and took kingdom power, there has been no watchfulness. Instead, there has been slumber. And in this slumber state, thieves have broken into the Masters household and "re-arranged" the furniture (changed his teachings) and stolen his property (mankind) and has done with them as they please.

The illustration at Matthew 24:42-51 speaks of two slaves in the Masters household. Which one was concerned with dates?

It was the evil slave. Why? Because he was EXPECTING the Master to arrive at a certain time. The faithful slaves were not concerned about dates because they remembered what their Master told them at Matthew 24:42.

Was not the Watch Tower organization in expectation of Christs return in 1914? Long before the arrival of that year they advertised it.

So the question at Matthew 24:45 "Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?" Can be easily answered. That slave is NOT one who has delved in dates of the Masters return. That slave has not listened to the Master. That slave is teaching what Jesus says that even he has no knowledge of. How can a slave know what the Master does not? The faithful slave is one who remembers and obeys what his Master told him at Matthew 24:42.

The problem is: Many have made the Watch Tower (and any other religious organization) their Master and they obey and listen to them.

Bible prophecy has an interesting aspects--whatever happens in the world fulfills prophecy.

If the lawlessness increases, it fulfills the end-of-the-world prophecy found in Mathew Chapter 24.

If people are leading a normal life doing things such as " eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage" (Mathew 24:37), even this would fulfill the end-of-the-world prophecy!

How fitting that we all break out and heartily sing that old 1940s song whose chorus goes:

"Love is just around the corner...

love is just around the corner...

love is just around the corner...

    when I'm with you"

"The end is just around the corner...

the end is just around the corner...

the end is just around the corner...

    when I'm on JW.org"

Or they may take the route from the book of Enoch or one of those books that brought out how during Noah's time when God mentioned 120 years, it was literally 120 years left remaining until the flood would hit. If the GB grabs that one, then they'll be saying it will come in 2034 lol.

You have to pretty gullible to believe in a biblical armageddon.

A zombie apocalypse on the other hand... that shit's coming.

You want to see a zombie apocalypse? Go to a kingdomhall during the Nov 2014 WT study bashing sessions. Sit in the front row and turn around and you'll see the glazed look on a whole crowd of zombies.
