Believe it or not, requirements to get a passport may have changed between the 1950's and now.

As noted above, no "loyalty oath" is now required.

It was an issue that went by the wayside around 1943 and after WW2 when the WTS started shipping missionaries all over....they managed to rewrite their position of vaccinations which were required.

The old Passport photo from the OP shows Knorr swore to "protect against all enemies foreign or domestic". To bad the JWs in Malawi didn't see that.

Passports are different now.
