Cofty - Here you again - Not addressing the information - but attacking ME.

I am copying and pasting information related to the general topic

The original info had imbeded links -

but your purpose is not honest.

Every single thing you say is a parrot

    of some information you read

on the intenet or in some other source,

you re-word it, or not, as you please.

Here in this fly-by environment, of a "thread" it is not

the same context as a "published work" ( absurd)

I am not "publishing" here. Or "taking credit"

Sorry the imbedded links did not work,

but you can easily copy and paste and

find the source your self as you did,

and so what ? You simply want to attack me personally

when you cannot come up with any

    real response to information.

I am not writing a serious thesis here, and neither is anyone.

Info is cut and paste, Images are cut and paste, ( with no credits)

Why don't you jump on Outlaw for all his plagiarized images ?

Outlaw never gives credits to his sources, and neither does anyone here

and there are thousands of "clever cartoons" posted and lots of casual

references or copied material. You simply object to what I post, not

the sources I copy and paste. Is there a rule here ? I don't think so.

Its a "chat" Cofty, get over yourself. When you cannot refute or deny

something, you start criticsizing spelling or making accusactions of

"bad motives" or "dishonest methods". Hmm I think there is a word for that.

Villagegirl - You made exactly the same lame excuse for trying to make copy-paste look like your original work last time.

There is not a single clue in your posts above that even hint you didn't write it yourself.

If your going to plagiarise you should at least be careful not to twist the intent of the original author.

I would think a more pragmatic approach to JUNK words would consist

of asserting which words are which and why.

In Science, what can not be measured and made predictable belongs in a different magisterium.

The magisterium of "spirit" is that of assertions without a means of support (i.e. Faith).

Faith has to be THE most important part of mysticism because it is taking the place of the most important part of science.

Terry- 96%- 97% of the universe is completley unknown, a mystery.

Science changes its mind constantly, nothing is set in stone, there

is no final, Science Book, that explains all. Science is not opposed to

mystery or the possibilities of other life forms and other intelligence

outside our own and existing elswhere. What you think you know for

a "fact" today may be viewed as simply a childish notion, in 10 or 15 years

from now. My examples, ( and I did not need to spend hours of research

to find them ) where simply meant to illustrate the changing nature of

information and constant changing understanding of the

    universe and science itself.

Cofty is sputtering on about how I got the information?

It is basic and common knowledge, (to anyone who took any

college level science) but must it have been such 'big news" to Cofty,

he assumed I made it up myself ? Or was "taking credit for it" ?

If you already know what to research, finding it is a click away.

Terry- Science also recognizes invisible unknown "forces" in the universe.

Dark energy and dark matter, is what 97% of the universe is labeled, simply

meaning, we don't know what the hell is out there, but only see its effects

working against known laws. Spirit is a human English, word, taken from

some Hebrew word, and similar concepts exist in all philosophies, it refers

to some unknown, invisible, force acting on the universe.

Wait a minute; isn't that what Quantum Mechanics is all about ?

    Cofty,

This is something that has evidence more than enough! Every day one dies and enters into a world of dream where thoughts create forms, and next day his body is not exactly the same as it was on the previous day. Life does not end with sleep. The individual consciousness is not lost. One dies from childhood to become the youth, and from youth to become the mature adult, and finally one dies from maturity into old age. YET throughout the cyclic changes, there is an unbroken continuity of life. In nature, nothing perishes, but what seems to be change is only the change of forms and activity. So is with the conscious energy. The truth is that there is no death but there is only EVERLASTING life. Some will understand this before their physical death, others will understand this after their physical deah. Hence, here is no issue here, no dispute at all!

some unknown, invisible, force acting on the universe. Wait a minute; sn't that what Quantum Mechanics is all about ? - Villagegirl

    No.

Also you are confusing invisible with totally undetectable and unmeasurable.

Hence, here is no issue here, no dispute at all! - Pinku

Yes there is because everything you said is totally without evidence.

When I dream it is a function of my brain. We can observe precisely which part of our brains are responsible for dreaming using MRI scanners. How can we experience anything after our brains have perished?

Life and consciousness are processes: functions of our bodies and brains. When those machines break down the processes of life and consciousness cease.

Science is not opposed to mystery - villagegirl

Solving mysteries is what science does.

In contrast, "spirituality" revels in mystery. You hope that there is something we don't know that will provide much-needed evidence.

    Grand stuff Terry.

'Junk' you say? ....just when I was getting used to the americanism 'trash'.

Words are changing meaning all the time. Like a street map is out of date the moment it's printed, one cannot say that a certain word today has the same meaning it did 1 week ago.

We all know the WBT$ uses 'loaded language' to control it's followers. *Ahem* Did I mean 'the Pure Language?'

" What you think you know for a "fact" today may be viewed as simply a childish notion, in 10 or 15 years from now. " Source, Village Girl. (at Cofty).

This is very possible, what are considered to be unchageable facts often do change, especially with the advance of Science.

Often believers latch on to this and say in effect, "You cannot trust Science as it changes its mind". As though believers never have or do, or as though they can point to un unchangeable source of their Theology.

But Terry makes a good point about not using "junk" words, or we could add "Junk phrases", how often do we hear them ? shorthand phrases that are used to get a concept over, but which in fact to the ill-informed give the wrong idea. For example the already mentioned "survival of the fittest".

Words are used to convey ideas, if we wish our ideas to be understood as we intend, we must be careful, and precise, in the words we use, and how we use them.

Peoples lives have been blighted, and many lost, because of careless use of words, the whole Schism between the Eastern and Western Churches results from the use of the word "and".
