In my conversation yesterday with a 19 year old DF'd JW, I discovered just how much depth there is to a young Witnesses' understanding

of the past. It is ZERO!

The older publications aren't around to consult.

The Society does the "research" FOR the JW and it counts as THEIR OWN. (What a concept!)

Any tricky teaching is brushed aside when questioned with the larger issue of TRUST JEHOVAH.

    It is intellectual switcheroo.

I said to the young man last night, "1914 was supposed to be the END and not the beginning of the END. What has Jesus been doing all this time?"

He was amazed I would ask such a silly question!

"He's been doing plenty directing the Organization in the worldwide preaching work . . . blah blah blah."

My point in mentioning this is what?

HE HAD AN ANSWER even though it was a baloney answer. Therefore: IT WAS NOT AN ISSUE with him. It didn't bother his thinking.

As long as the WTS says "something" in answer to a critical inquiry---THAT is considered a settled matter!

So did Jesus start ruling over the kingdom in 33 C.E.

    Or 1914 C.E. (or 1874)

or after Armaggeddon (date currently unknown)

In the late 1980s I had a study with a Cambodian man, one of the Boat People, and all of this made sense to him because of Prince Sihanouk.
