What rich blessings this Organization pours out, with Jehovah's approval!

The Legal Department are the true "puppet masters!" Of course this is a Law Firm hired by the WTS to look out for its' interests. Outsourced, of course, because how many actual JW's finished Law School? Maybe a handful of people became Witnesses after already practicing Law, likely without much success, and found their niche with the WTS. These are hired guns, who have no regard for justice in its' pure form. Their one focus is to limit liabilities for their masters. In some other context you could believe that there is honor in their work. But re-framing the legal entities that comprise the WTS, and sifting through the Bible to find a scripture to justify each change, the GB and the Legal Department are looking more hypocritical and sinister than I ever would have expected.

i guess it's a sign of the times.

Lawyers / Used car salesmen , who would you trust ?

The unwritten law of a lawyer : "Never ask a question you dont want to hear an answer to."

"Their one focus is to limit liabilities for their masters."

    How very true ,

Lawyers are to protect the people they are employed by .

prosecutors work to get their clients convicted.

Defence lawyers are to get their clients off .

Is it any different with the Jehovahs Witness religion ? Of course not. The legal department is hell bent on getting the WTB&TS off any legal liability that may be targetted at the WTB&TS. or its subsequent subsidary

I guess what I'm trying to say is that this legal advisor, whoever they may be, seem to be playing "catch-up" for the WTS. Especially in regards to liabilities involving pedophiles. Probably is several other areas. Nothing wrong with hiring a legal firm to close up those vulnerabilities. Then there's the real estate aspect. It does make sense to bring all of the franchises under the "umbrella" of the Organization, rather than the helter-skelter approach that has been the rule of thumb until now.

These attorneys are "worldly people," in JW speak. They are of Satan's world. No offense to any here who may be in the legal profession, but, not only are they worldly, they are LAWYERS!

I wish I could be a fly on the wall during one of the WTS/LegalDepartment meetings. A whole pack of liars with agendas!

In addition to Blondie's list, their are dozens of private-practice JW lawyers who also do legal work for the WTS on various cases (of course, it is necessary, as licenses to practice law are state-specific, and the Bethel lawyers are not licensed to practice in, say, California).

Evidently, the execution of wills take up quite a bit of work as well.

If they were busy on getting jws to make wills making the WTS the recipient, they are not doing a very good job with the WTS badgering the congregations for more money.

From a rumor I've heard, the Watchtower is in no way strapped for money. But then that is only hearsay.

Blondie, somehow I have to tak the idea that there is such an extensive legal staff who are actually "all in" Jehovah's Witnesses. Being educated, I would expect them to be more analytical and less gullible.
