Risk management is highly complex in an international multi billion $ organization. It is beyond the ability of the GB to manage risk.

While the GB is the "face" of the organization. I supose that the decisions they make are minimal. The real question is who are the ones really is in charge? I suspect that this group includes more than a few lawyers. Perhaps some that are not even JWs.

Agree with Oubliette and NY44M...and wouldn't it be interesting to pull back the cloak of invisibility to see who's really running the show in 2014?

NH&H, Data-dog, and CultbGone, Wow, thanks! I don't think I've ever had so much affirmation in my life! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

True dat! There's no way those 7 buffoons are really running things. Lett is a moron, and I mean literally. That guy is clearly of well-below average intelligence. I bet he wears loafers because it's too taxing on his intelligence to tie laces. Loesch is not too bright either. Can you say, "Brain surgery with gun -- don't go to college!"?

Herd is a homophobe and a misogynist, and those are his good points. He is clearly the token, ... well you know.

Tony Morris the Turd is also a homophobe. (Tight Pants on Italian boys!) I used to think that he might be the smart one, but his, "We're the thinkingest people on Earth" comment proved me wrong there. Also, he is so full of himself I'm surprised he hasn't exploded just from the sheer internal pressure of the voluminous amount of shit which continuously builds up inside of him.

I don't know enough about the other three, but Splane's "We love this idea!" comment regarding the revised "FDS" doctrine proves he is either completely delusional, someone's bitch or both. Either way, he's out. Jackson's a wallflower and Sanderson is the new-kid-on-the-block. He can't be running things either. So what's left?

I suspect that in some weird religio-incestuous way, the legal/accounting department really run things, but think they are serving Jehovah by whispering in the GB's collective ears. The GB then do what they are instructed by their "hired-brains" and fool themselves into thinking Holy Spirit has somehow overseen the whole process and that's whey they are in charge.

Any way you dice it or slice it, it's a theocratic clusterfuck. And the R&F JWs--the people that just want to be good and gain the approval of a capricious, jealous bully of a god, Jehovah--are the ones that take it in the shorts.

    Let's review: It's a cult!

I internet is a cult killer. thanks to the internet I recieved the confidence to break free. Especially hearing from those still trapped in who felt like I did. The numbers on the few forums I visit are growing weekly, especially as they link to each other. From here I found jwfacts and Beroean Pickets my favorite sites to read. jwsurvey is an angrier site but there are good insights. I especially love reading all the leaked letters and knowing the silliness in advance. It makes life bearable until I can move on In 2 years.

Oubliette - "Any way you dice it or slice it, it's a theocratic clusterfuck."

I think that's just about my most favoritest thing you've ever said.

Oubliette - "Tony Morris the Turd is also a homophobe. (Tight Pants on Italian boys!)"

    Oh, that's too funny!

"Tony the Turd"... or better yet, "Tight-Pants Tony"!

Sounds like a character from a Dick Tracy porn parody.

Oubliette, I agree, risk management is a concept beyond the grasp of the GB.

Which is why the GB does not really make the decisions. Those that make the decisions may facilitate the illusion that the GB is in charge. But I am sure these old men make very few decisions. They may be given the option of A or B. These options were well framed by thoses in charge before they get to the GB
