In my area they seem to be walking slower around the 'territory®' than ever.

If they're ramping up they certainly do it differently to the definition of ramping up.

The WBT$ scam looks to be slowing down if anything.

We are already 1/4 way through the year does this prediction of increased activity seem to have any merit? 2014 does seem like a psychological year. It would have been for me.

The memorial is like the new year's resolution. It is when everyone including the inactive ones put in extra effort for a month or two only to see if fade again until next year.

I think 2014 is the memorial of years. We may see a lot of increased activity but not long after this year is over it will revert to the norm. We can even hope that it is a "sifting" year where the exodus will be even greater than normal. Can we hope for a JW Bear Market?

Yes they're ramping up so much that only 2 people were baptized at a recent convention. Several people I know have stopped attending so late in this time of the end. Lol.

@crazyguy Ive heard the same thing about the writing department. My friend who is very devout says the end must come within 10 years or the organization won't last in the US. i got into a debate with another elder mts grad friend who doesn't believe the org will make the necessary major changes because that would be admitting they're wrong. All doomsday cults have eventually died, many before my time as I'm young. I don't think anyone who's been out for more than five years can actually comment on whats been going on. Many active dubs are very aware of inaccuracies and awaiting reform.

I seem to notice a lot of posters hinting that Witnesses are skipping assemblies. Taken together with the recent changes about Circuit Assemblies, this may bode ill for the organization.

My Father doesn't talk about these things anymore. He has dementia now.

I had a similar moment with my JW mom.

She'd commented on the (alleged) horrible state of the world we were in, and I asked her, "Would you rather have lived in the Old West? The Middle Ages?"

I think a lot of Witnesses are on auto-pilot,just going through the motions. It may not even register to some that it is 100 years since 1914.

So during skype today, my mom said something 'momentous' (sorry if I spelled it wrong) is supposedly happening at the district convention this summer, some huge announcement or something is what I got from it. And then she mentioned them doing away with the district overseers, I asked her if she knew why and she said she didn't know. I just said 'is it to cut down on expense or something?' She was telling me I need to get to the memorial this year, which I don't plan on. I think she truly believes something big is going to happen soon. This could be a year of great disappointment for the witnesses. I mean, how many times can they cry wolf?
