I was told everyone has a God consciousness, therefore no need for

the GB. The spirit applies the truth of God to minds of men to

convince them by fair and sufficient arguments that they are

sinners. Responding to that conviction brings men to salvation.

It help us to understand and interpret God's word.

    What do you think, BS.

What confuses me is how potent the holy spirit was back in the day, you know when it raised people from the dead, and did all of that other magic shit.

These days, all it does is help high school graduates print massive amount of literature that is oftentimes wrong.

I guess holy spirit needs a viagra or two to get things humming again.

Just about all religious organizations proclaim that they are being directed by the Holy Spirit.

The Truth of the matter is none of them are.

Part of being an organized religion is to market and sell yourself, the WTS. did this by utilizing their own published works.

    .

Why some people, a minority could not see through this commercialized fraud is a wonder unto itself.

Perhaps it was a case of well they quote from the Bible directly so they must be right and honestly forthright .

I talked to several people who believe the GB is inspired. I of course corrected them. Ignorance is widespread.

How to Identify a cult (excult.org)

The group will have an ELITIST view of itself in relation to others, and a UNIQUE CAUSE. e.i. THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES RIGHT - everyone else is wrong. THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES DOING GOD'S WILL - everyone else is in apostasy.

    They do this by:
    1. Their leader/s may claim a special, exclusive ministry, revelation or position of authority given by God.

I am also interested in the mechanics of this. Let's assume for just one really mad moment that the GB, if not perhaps lowly Elders, are Spirit Directed.

How do they receive instructions/messages ? Is it something like a Seance in the Wednesday Meetings ? The eight Popes sit around a table join hands and wait till someone says "I'm getting something", meaning other than an attack of gastric wind presumably ?

If so, how do they know it isn't an evil, mischevious spirit, intent on deceiving them ?

They are not supposed to talk to the dead (see the book of Samuel), so it cannot be the "John Class in Heaven" as claimed in the Rev Climax book, so it has to be either the Holy Spirit or some other spirit, but what sort ?

If it is something less tangible than this, i.e a round table discussion then a consensus of opinion is reached, how is this any different from how ordinary Committees dealing with mundane everyday things functions ?

    Spirit Directed Organization my arse.

“Band on the Run”: “Did the Holy Spirit direct the cross and crown, the pyramid worship, the different dates for Armageddon, the child abuse, Beth Sarim, the Bethel Christmas tree?”

Good point – especially from the year 1919 onward, when the Watchtower corporation was supposed to have been officially recognized and appointed by Jehovah God through Jesus Christ as being God’s one-and-only spirit-directed organization on earth. So, you would think that after 1919 those fundamental issues of dogma and policy would have been refined, or at least straightened up somewhat. But what do we find after 1919? It’s been taking about a hundred years since then for the Watchtower organization (remember, God’s one-and-only spirit-directed organization on earth, don’t you know!) to come to terms with much of those same fundamental precepts. And lord knows how long it would take them – and God through Jesus – to substantially straighten things out to a satisfactory and logical reconciliation.

Personally, I consider myself more to be a follower of quantum physicist Stephen Hawking. But you might say, He doesn’t claim any spiritual inspiration or offer any religious direction whatsoever. . . . Precisely!

hoser: you said: --GB FundDS is "flying by the seat of their pants?" , good point!;--the bum is, as far away as you can get from your eyes, brains on your torso. and they do

the erratic flightpath/history and mental aerobatics in their doctrine teaching proves it.
