    Hi all,

I think the most damning evidence that the organization was fully aware of what they signed up to is the articles in the magazines in the early 90's. These articles were clearly fulfilling thier obligation to provide evidence to the UN of support for the UN's goals and objectives.

I presented this information to an elder who was surprised by the content of the articles. The response from him was astonishing! He said that whoever wrote those articles was a rogue writer in the organization and at the time these articles would have slipped past "quality control". He continued that there was a chnge in the writing committee after these articles, perhaps because of this rogue writer.

My response was that it is incomprehensible that so many articles could make it into the magazines without anyone noticing, and even if they did how is it that satan can contaminate gods "official channel of communication?"

The crazy thing for me was that he seemed to convince himself in a few minutes that this was the explanation, he was completely happy with this and was like Ok next subject!!!

There used to be a web site that kept track of NGO articles that NGO wrote to be members. it had the wtbs listed and the Eleanor Roosevelt article cited as one example. Unfortunately I think the web site is gone.

OK next subject?. When will the next rogue be along(as if their not there already). What about all the other rogues writing before the 90s who came up with

the beliefs they no longer adhere to (false dates ,calculations ,generation ,F.D.S.).The list is endless. If it wasn't funny you'd have to laugh. L.O.L.

Of course, this Elder's comment is stupid on many levels and contradicts WT's own published claim:

"Even Bible writers, who were directed by holy spirit, made sure that they recorded information that was thoroughly researched and accurate. Luke, for example, spoke to many eyewitnesses and "traced all things from the start with accuracy." — Luke 1:1-4.

The Writing Department follows the pattern of ‘tracing all things with accuracy.’ But where can reliable information be found? While the Internet is a convenient and quick source of vast amounts of information, our researchers do not rely on blogs or poorly documented Web entries written by unidentified or unqualified persons....

...In summary, the Writing Department insists on using only material that is accurate and truthful, even regarding seemingly insignificant details. As a result, "the faithful and discreet slave" can consistently supply spiritual food that brings honor to "the God of truth," Jehovah."

    2011 Yearbook, page 9.

    ----

My question to this Elder would be: where was god's holy spirit when the "rogue" writer was messing with WT material? Doesn't the HS, by WT's claim, direct all of the material? Was HS napping that day?

If blatantly false information makes its way into WT literature, and no one in charge catches it, doesn't this, in reality, call into question ALL publications WT prints? If one is bad, then it's at least possible that more is bad, and this elder unwitingly undermined any reason he should have for putting confidence in anything WT prints.

And so where was Holy Spirit during this "quality control" glitch?

Awakening. Could you post the list of articles you used. This has come up with my family recently. I'd like to show them the change in tone just prior to being admitted.

awakening, the behavior that you descibed on the part of that elder is a classic example of cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias at work.

Once a person is invested (emotionally, financially, with time and/or reputation) in a position or belief system it is simply too hard for them to admit they were wrong and change course.

In other words, people are held hostage to cult-mind control because they are too embarrassed to admit they might be wrong.

Here are a few pertinent quotes from an article on Confirmation Bias from Princeton University:

    • "People gather evidence and recall information from memory selectively, and interpret it in a biased way."
    • "The biases appear in particular for emotionally significant issues and for established beliefs."
    • "People show confirmation bias because they are pragmatically assessing the costs of being wrong, rather than investigating in a neutral, scientific way."
    • "Confirmation biases contribute to overconfidence in personal beliefs and can maintain or strengthen beliefs in the face of contrary evidence. Hence they can lead to disastrous decisions, especially in organizational, military, political and social contexts."

WT can claim ignorance all it want to about its affiliation with the United Nations, but it makes no difference.

How does WT explain that it immediately got into bed with the OSCE, a self-described "political-military" organization that has the same ideals and goals as the U.N.? In fact, their goals are so complimentary, the OSCE is viewed as the European UN.

WT is currently a member of the OSCE.

If WT made an "honest" mistake with the UN, it can hardly say it innocently made the same exact blunder again with the OSCE...unless WT is also willing to own the fact it's hopelessly retarded.

Of course, WT can use its old standby cop-out- it's god's fault !!!

***si p.9 par.16 (2011) "All Scripture Is Inspired of God and Beneficial" ***

    (1) Jehovah God originates his utterances; (2) then his official Word, or Spokesman — now known as Jesus Christ — often transmits the message; (3) God’s holy spirit, the active force that is used as the medium of communication, carries it earthward; (4) God’s prophet on earth receives the message; and (5) he then publishes it for the benefit of God’s people"
