So is the Christian hope in Heaven or on Earth?

in Acts chapter 1the question was raised: 6 So when they had assembled, they asked him: “Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?” 7 He said to them: “It does not belong to you to know the times or seasons that the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction.

Notice Jesus never said thered be a change in venue, just that it wasnt up to them to know when....

So what is there from both sides? Please share

    Both.

"Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

The Christians of the first century only had a heavenly hope in view ,ephiasians 4:4 and Paul mention paridise being in heaven. The scriptures also mention and earthly things to be fleshly thinking. The term paradise earth is never mentioned in the bible. Yes there is mentionings of the meek and the righteous to inherit the land but does that mean one lives on the land. Jesus inherits the nation's but does that mean he will reside with them. I'm starting to think the heavenly calling is the only one.

God's will in heaven that we definitely want done on the earth?

Revelation 12:8-9 - neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. So down the great dragon was hurled..

Just my personal point of view! It would be a helluvva better place without him - pardon the pun!!

p.s. Rev.21:3 - The tent of God is with mankind" (not spirit-dom!)

We had several threads a few weeks ago about quantum/spirituality. Just think of the two-slit experiment as permitting all Christians to have the hope of living in heaven and on earth... both at the same time!

And that's pretty much what even the Muslems want. After they die they want to go to heaven where there's sex with virgins, luxurious furniture, bountiful food. Funny, because when you read the bible, it says the angels had to leave heaven in order to have sex. Those Muslems would be so pissed to find out that there's no sex in heaven. But even if there is a heaven, most of those nut-jobs wouldn't be going.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Neither. This is a false choice. The hope of Christians is to avoid Judgment after death.

    Hebrews 9:27

    Acts 10: 42 & 43

You make a good piont Perry but why then does Paul talk so much about a heavenly calling????

Because this is the after-death destination of people who Now escape personal judgment. This was opened up to the Gentiles because the Nation of Israel (Jehovah's wife-like people) rejected "the Lord of Glory". Once the Bride of Christ is filled, others who escape judgment will live on earth.

Paul was the "Apostle to the Nations" (Gentiles) so he wrote a lot about their destiny. But it's still all about escaping judgment. There is no need what-so-ever for anyone to end up at the Great White Throne Judgment where their eternal condition is on the line.
