Thank you for the comments this took a little longer to do due to a family virus right in the middle which meant nursing took priority over drawing. Now to get him printed and framed ready for August. The problem now is what to do next. Need something with a good contrast and lot's of texture. Any ideas gratefully received.

Lovely. Might I suggest you befriend a nature photographer? There are clubs. Sometimes they get a great shot of the animal but the surroundings are just not right.
Canada Goose. Their necks make a pleasing curve.
Robert Bateman did wonderful, nearly monochromatic painting of a bird in the reeds. Your work reminds me somewhat of his. Besides your native skill with the pencil, you have an eye for composition.
