WHY do we have to stop talking to those who have been DA'd??? I left a job once and went to work for a competitor and I still used to socialise with my old colleagues. It does'nt seem fair that you are made to be a pariah when all you've done is be honest with yourself, the WTS and God.

I know....I'm new to this set up. Apologies for being a dumbo. X

It all depends on whether you are working for an egalitarian, fair, and generous "employer". An organization with nothing to hide has little to fear from the disaffected.

The GB does not recognize any honorable way to leave the religion.

The WT fear that DA'd people will tell active JW's the Truth.

They cannot possibly have JW's find out the Truth about what they themselves, with unknowing irony, call "the truth".

It is a key compenent of Information Control. Former members left for a reason, usually as a result of deep research. They have information that the leadership does not want the rank and file to hear.

Londo hit it right on the head. It's cult behavior plain and simple. DA'ing is essentially the same as DF'ing. The main difference is that one who DA's himself is taking preemptive action and not allowing the WTBTS to exercise the power that they think they have.

I tell you what else I really noticed this year when I came back, after being inactive was the CONSTANT mention of apostate websites. Like I never heard before!! WHAT are the GB/WTS so scared of?? If the truth cannot stand up to scrutiny then what is the point. Surely these guys are living in a bubble. We all have access to the internet now, yet we are treated like we are in the Dark Ages. Like not to accept sweets from strangers etc... I cannot beleive they treat the flock with such little respect.

"If the truth cannot stand up to scrutiny then what is the point." You haved summed up the fury that is unleashed on those JWs so dishonest with themselves that they must preach to utterly, categorically and irreversibly >EX< -JWs, so as to set them straight on the facts. Welcome to the real.

Hi quellycatface, Dangerous cults want to keep their members, so leaders of dangerous cults instruct their members to avoid bad associations with non-members and ex-members. You don't have to follow what the GB teaches JWs to do, but if you don't be prepared to be marked/shunned yourself.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

    Robert
