    Violet, Violet, Violet,

For just a little while I was inclined to agree with you after all how many millions is enough. I agree It seem ridiculous that someone who can hit a little ball with a stick can earn millions playing a game on a sunny afternoon and call it work while other sweat their asses of for $10 an hour.

There are those who don't want to work, why should I support those bludgers?

elderly and the sick, that's a differernt story. You have to reward those who work hard otherwise where is the incentive to work hard? Communism does NOT work. Look at the USSR.

You left me though when you refused to see how you watchtower god
is amassing BILLIONS of YOUR dollars and investing it in real estate and corporations that manufacture weapons.

Your little Watchtower filter dropped down. Your brain said "I don't want to have to deal with this so I'll just pretend I didn't hear it and then I don't have to deal with it.

This is called brain washing. You have been Brain washed. You can pick a JDub as soon as he/she starts to speak/post. Their thinking is always the same. It's Watchtower speak not the thoughts of you as an individual.

Open your mind before it's too late.

And you will know the truth and the REAL truth will set you free.

I personally resent anyone wanting to take my income and savings and spread it to others just to make things "even". Things arent even, and shouldnt be. With "even-ness" (socialism), you have no incentive. The USA has some of the biggest success stories in the world, but would we if the owners of these enterprises knew up front that thier money would go to everyone? What use would it be to excell? How hard would you work in your job if you knew you wouldnt get all of your raise, but rather it would be spread out amoung your fellow workers reguardless of how they did thier job?

It's odd that this topic came up, as I am studying the Davis-Moore thesis in Sociology, a very basic thesis that says that uneven rewards are good, they reward people for doing hard work (i.e. brain surgeon) or that takes a lot of schooling, etc. The criticism for the thesis are highly paid celebs. You can't have it both ways! And yes, immigration IS a drain on the economy, and if you had to pay for someone else to live in your country when so many other people already here need the help, well, you might have a different perspective.

What about the greedy s.o.b Pharmacutical co's? How can they justify their behaviour?

As follows: They spend vast amounts of their own money doing research into creating products that will improve the standard of life for those using them. They charge money for these products, money that people are willing to pay. Without that money, there would be no research. People would die because it wouldn't be profitable to do the research.

Got it in one, Derek. Drug companies actually work like venture capitalists - they get the odd hit like Prozac or Viagra, but for the most part the new drugs they develop will break even on development costs, if lucky. On top of the millions it takes to develop a new drug, it costs $200m just to register it with the FDA. Add to this formula the fact that patents on drugs wear out after about 10 years, there is only a small window of opportunity to make any profit on a new drug. The question, instead of why do new drugs cost so much, should really be "why do they cost so little?"!
