XBEHERE: 'I love using my tablet at the meetings, it makes it more bearable.'

Likewise, when I don't have my ipad with me, I pull out my smart phone to check my email, text messages or just surf the web. Having the O.K. from WT to use these electronic devices at meeting is a big plus and a good distraction for bored JW rank and file.

I can also see the future use of these devices at meetings as a curse and pain in the ass for 'Mother'!

Imagine at the click of a button you can be shopping online at meeting, reading up on world news, getting an update on your favorite sport or watching porn-all this inside the House Of God.... thank you WT for the official 'OKAY'!

I'll bet Jehovah God, Jesus Christ and the angels are likewise overjoyed!

I can just hear Jehovah God telling the Holy Spirit.....'What were you thinking directing the GB to make this decision'?

I would laugh my ass off if someone is watching porn when on the meeting and forgets to get the "sound" off...

The microphone guys will cop an eyeful...

This deal with the tablets is good. People using them at the meetings might have an undermining effect as they use them to shop, watch videos, read forums...generally drift attention away from the meeting...they may not learn TTATT or become 'apostates' but they might be less enthusiastic about giving time and money.

Yeah, eventually they'll have Elders "snooping" about looking at what is playing on the tablets, guidelines on tablet applications, internet rules, etc. etc.

Actually, they should have just encouraged only eReaders as only those are needed for the ministry work. Certainly not loaded tablets, and most certainly not iPads and going the branded route.

I always thought an eReader would be great to pull in content for the language and that could link to other computers. Full tablets would be too much, and their cost would divide R&F members, and congregations.

This simply highlights the control factor once again. It also highlights how rules are made up as they go along. No hawks among them when they wrote that first letter.

    This is funny.

For example, the user (whether on the platform or in the audience) should set his device to a mode that would not emit sounds, and he should void electronic alerts, such as incoming e-mail notifications.

Really??? So glad the GB prayerfully thought about that and advised us.
How would any Elder have know to turn the sound off without that spiritual advice!
