What's scary is they can do whatever they want and the rank and file will just go along. They proved this in 1995 with the change in 'This Generation'. That was a really bad attempt to buy themselves more time and anyone with any kind of understanding of language and grammar should of figured that out but only a couple hundred thousand left. So now they can say Aliens did it or go ahead and drink the koolaid and they will be lining up for the cups.

It is the new grey New World Translation. It is an informal term, but it seems that it was JWs that started saying it.

The July 15, 2013 Watchtower shuffling and waffling hogwash issue sets the JW foundational demolition already present between the lines in all those articles.
They also fully disconnect any principle of repeating patterns to first century Christians or 1914, and fully discredit any anointed in decentralized form feeding people Bible truth at a higher level of insight.
It must only come from the Governing Body neo-papacy as Apostolic successors:
""The channel he used for spiritual feeding was clearly recognizable. After all, the apostles—the original members of the governing body—could provide visible proof of heavenly backing."" (WT 7/15/13 pg. 18, par. 12)
They then say Christ judges in a great tribulation that must end prior to Christ's arrival as per Matt24:29-31. This gives JWs an illusion that a drawn out period to come for a decade minimum, "can end any day now brothers!", when according to what should be JWs' own rules, it cannot end so prematurely.
Thus it appears the only reason to keep a "1914" present in the JW mind, is to aid a potential 2014 event on Bethel, as a total speculation here on my part. 1914 and 2014 are a psychological JW centennial marker now being reinforced, as they actually demolish that foundational meaning in JWs, but this 100 year cycle JW psychological opportunity would of course be more strongly believed by some JWs as a direct repeating principle and thus accept anything financially or organizationally destructive coming on Bethel as "prophecy repeating!".
When overall JWs now are deprogrammed to detect any actual replication as an actual framework, such as Bethel lawlessness, JW blindness, temple judgment, JW weeds, UN NGO, connecting as repeating a major prophetic cycle. But pointal allusions to repeating principles, like a percieved centennial, could be very useful for a Bethel coup super-event.
If that actually occurred in 2014 timing, the Bethel cabal can then pick from a plethora of delusions already present in JW early theology, to proceed to cover up what must then become a couple years of outright Bethel organizational desolations, because no end as expected by JWs can arrive in the anticipated implied time frame of "any day now". Thus a handy cover up toolbox of "prophecy fulfilling brothers!!" is in position.
Thus Bethel uses bits and pieces, as an example in that WT 7/15/13, to merely reinforce an over simplification that does not inform JWs of anything, other than Bethel will be going down in a JW self fulfilling prophecy, but not at the point in the cycle or for the reason JWs imagine, and JWs should expect actual bewilderment as shown between the lines and directly in that ridiculous quagmire of WT new and improved ratnest hypnotics as per WT 7/15/13 JW demolition issue.
Bethel as a former JW religion already has ended. It is fully a mutant form of it's former self. It is already unraveling EVERY know former pattern, by calling into question the central FDS principle (and applying it to the collective Bethel Pope), every other prophetic principle metaphor has also now in spirit also been discredited and demolished.
Thus a Bethel end is merely completing the picture it already is and the process as the entity that "can end any day now brothers!". The overall world system still has a world government to globalize and deploy (Dan11:42-45), and that is a decade long process minimum. At Bethel, all time stops in 1976. That is the level of "modern" JW awareness of all things spiritual and secular in events and meaning. (such as JW globalization retardation).
