Throwing a bone to my fellow Jehovah's Witnesses needing help defending the teaching God picked the Watchtower back in 1919. Just trying to make your life easier with a simple explanation, no more complex doctrines, ok.

During its cycle to pull in dollars from its rank and file and push those dollars to real estate and stock market investments and pedophile lawsuits, it also causes many more dollars to be burned up in massive overheads, inefficiencies, opportunity costs like field service, gasoline, meals, meeting nights, weekend mornings, driving to conventions, hotel costs, etc, compounded by attaining on average little competitive earning power. A simpler solution would be to just tithe at 10% and give up mandatory field service, mandatory meetings, mandatory conventions.

Does anyone have a good metric for how much $$ / %monthly income JWs lose in these overheads and inefficiencies? I bet they'd agree to a tithe.

The writers of the Watchtower have put this paradox before everyone who read that magazine. According to our past books and magazines, we should not follow the Slave because Jesus Christ has not approved or sanatized them. Was it the Truth Book that said "Jehovah's Witnesses follow the Faithful Slave because Jesus Christ inspected them and found them worthy to watch and feed them"? The Slave is not identified, the Evil Slave has not been cleansed from the Master's giant palace, so who or what we believe because our lives are at stake. JWs are going to be just like the "goats" in Jesus Parable, "lord lord, did we not do great works in your name?"
