I'm sure it was biblical..seems I've heard the cosher way of performing the "8th day" ritual was for the maternal grand mother to bight it off with her teeth. I doubt any of the JUU grannies are following Judaic tradition these days. since no dub is educated enough to be a doctor, ain't likely they are "paracticing", just being practiced upon...

I've performed hundreds of circumcisions, its part of my job.
I prefer using the Mogan clamp as apposed to the Gomco one. The plasty bell, for get it, too much "hanging around".
For "zealous" jws, I would do it in the office at the 8th day.
There is no medical reason to circumcise a baby boy, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. So it is strictly a personal preference of the parents.
But I feel about the male circumcision as I do about the female circumcision, it is barbaric.

My sis was a JW and so was her husband. But they did not circumcise either of their sons. They were active btw and no one said didly to them about it.
If I become a JW again and I have kids with either my three wives, seven concubines, or nine slave girls, or all or any of them, I will definitely circumcise my sons. I mean its just weird man to not be circumcised and I am damned glad I am. Course me dear ole mum was a catholic.
Its not a requirement nor is it forbidden. It is however commonly practiced by hospitals in the USA. In fact, you have had to specifically tell them not to circumcise in the past. I imagine that is going to change with as many loons (like my sis) who are not having their kids circumcised.
I mean let's face it the thing is hideous enough and how many broads really like lookin at it as it is. But then leave all that forskin on it, WTF ever. I like lookin at my knobby little presence between my legs.

No. Not required. But it is passing strange that circumcision is regarded by JWs as OK, but vasectomy is a "mutilation of the body" and is likely to get you into deep, deep, kaka.
I personally favor circumcision with pinking shears. The resultant cock is referred to as a "frilly dilly."
