You could even take this post down to the next level, which would be collectivism vs. individualism. The Witness's set up a belief structure completely geared torwards collectivism. In this belief, each member must submit (or worship) the will of the group. This involves sacrifice and the loss of freedom and individual rights. Collectivism is rampant in all societies, and I belive it's absolutely stupid and evil.

Almost everyone in the United States prizes their ability to be a free-willed, free-thinking and a rational individual. When you belong to a religion like JW's you give up almost all of your rights to an idea that a group or dictator (such as Jehovah or god) has the right to contol you -simply because it's more powerful than you. Witnesses also reinforce this idea with erronious lies backed by absolutely no evidence, upheld by absolute fear.

Why anyone would sacrifice any part of their life for a collective entity is not logical and takes away all personal dignity. Humans without individual identities or rights are slaves. This is what JW's teach and preach -slavery!

There's no wonder almost every congregation I've been to is filled with the most depressed and tragic souls one could ever meet. Each and every JW's personal philosophy is to wait, do nothing, stay repressed, keep slaving, stay uneducated, sacrifice family/friends/mates, forgive, blindly obey, not scrutinize, disreguard doubt, toil, brood...basically the most pathetic human you could turn yourself into.

It's just plain 'ole idolatry... attributing something to a person, place or thing that belongs to God.

JW organization is dedicated to one goal and that is a work for The faithful and discreet slave. The entire hiearchy, worship, amibition, and perseverence, and effort is revolving around pleasing him. The other goals that should be defining Christianity as a love, help, social support, care for the sick and elderly, was moved into the secondary place, because entire effort of JW organization is directed for preaching and hunting souls for the never satisfied the faithful and discreet slave. Someone had once compared JW organization as a totalitarian organization similar to Northern Korea, where entire effort and money is put toward a military doctrine and worshiping the leadership, and nothing is left for other goals. Over the time, the organization turns into self worship, it compares itself to the great prophets of the Old Testament, and see itself in each prophecy. Its leaders are compared to Elijah, Noe, or apostles; and does not matter how ridiculous it looks.

Silly people: You need to be followers of men to be saved.

Thanks everyone for your comments above.

I would like to make one additional thought for sincere pondering:

... With the Governing Body controlling the contents of the Watchtower magazine, one needs no imagination to see how this special "tool" [Watchtower magazine] could be easily used to capture and manipulate the "minds and hearts" of sincere persons earth-wide and eventually exact unquestioned obedience, as would a "god." -- See 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4.
