You guys are so right, my wife has the total all in mentality and is wasting money on gas and killing the van, they always use hers/mine because its an 8 seater, then she has time for the other ones in the hall that have needs etc. But what do I get since i'm the one that financially make all this possible for her, nothing. No time for me, always tired less home made meals very little time for physical contact etc. What a joke if it weren't for me she would be living in a travel trailer.

life is so short. 90 hours of FIELD service? how about
150 per month on 45.- "allowance"
plus side work, mettings etcetc? washing, starching, ironing hubbie's meeting shirts ?
That is packing a lot into a life that is TOO short, and is getting shorter by the minute.
enjoy whatever you do.
now, that THAT is over.

Yes, my pioneer wife friends are little powerhouses and pull their own weight. My pioneer wife friends are all really decent ladies who do what they do because they believe it's right. That's a very negative stereotype. Some may be in it just for status, but most are not.

Good point, Julia. But this is a stereotype with some real truth behind it. However, that said, there are so many who are giving their all. I know some of them.

its about hypocrisy and appearance, those who are in for that, your description fits exactly, there are others, who are really genuine though.
The point however, the whole pioneer arrangement supports this kind of behaviour in people.

I was a pioneer and an elder's wife. I worked myself half to death getting in 100 hours a month and doing all the housework as well as a part-time job. Could my husband help with the dishes? Yes sometimes but more often than not there was another damn talk to prepare or an elder's meeting to go to. I truly believed I was saving lives with the people I brought into the 'Truth'. Some of us really believed it you know, we tend to be the ones that were most hurt by this religion. Then I come on here and my motives are called into question. Thanks Rattigan.

JWs and pioneers are people all: in any group of people you are going to find crawlers, climbers, label lickers, back stabbers, name droppers, and genuine people working humbly for the cause, whatever it might be. It might be working in a bread shop or a huge corporation that builds stadiums, or a school, a charity, a police office- every area of human existence has all types. The JWs pretend they don't have that, that everyone is just wonderful, but they're just like anyone else. Some 'serve' out of the goodness of their hearts, other 'serve' for the trip or the climb.

you put it perfectly, Julia, nothing to add.
