What you THINK ... v What you KNOW ....

  What you THINK you would do hypothetically.

  What you KNOW you would do in reality.

  This is the 'hypothetical' story. What do you think you would do.

  Young man finishes his days work, he works in construction, he is wearing his 'kit' tool belt, boots, he's on foot.

  One day, he's walking down the street.

  He see's an elderly lady, and a group of 3 people, 2 male, 1 female, who have a dog. (large mongrel)

  The elderly lady has her hand bag with her.

  The group approach the elderly lady, they 'surround' her, and try to rob her of her handbag. ( maybe her pension is in her bag, maybe she is on the way home from the post office, maybe the group have been watching her and know she has money.

  You are the yuoung man, watching the scene unfold in the distance.

  So, hypothetically, what would you do, do you think ? IF, you were in the story.

  Obvisously there is no right or wrong answer, and is not a test.

  But I am very interested in people's thoughts.

  Please let me know how you think you would handle this kind of scenario if you were the youung man. Or what you think should be done.

  I saw a man abusing his girlfriend in public, screaming and yelling. I made sure he saw me dial 9-11.

  Thankfully we have concealed carry in our state.

  Decision would be somewhat easy. Draw gun. One verbal warning. One warning shot. If they don't flee, one dead dog, potentially 3 injured or dead thiefs. Should come prepared and not bring a dog to a gunfight.

  My Ruger LC9 has a laser sight add-on integrated into the trigger guard. While I've never drawn it except at the range, I imagine being painted with a laser would have some psychological factors. Or having a 45 pointed at you. I really should get a laser on those also.

  That reminds me, I need to call Beretta for a part.

  lol, sorry boys, I forgot about guns.

  No guns allowed. I do like the thought though, but the young man was clearly at a disadvantage,

  2 men 1 woman 1 dog, no gun, not a busy built up area, bit isolated.

  So, he makes he way over to the elderly lady and the group, ( bit of verbal, bad verbal, lol)

  First, they set the dog on him ... dog get's the hammer in the head, sorted,

  then they attack him, and the woman has a go ( not the old one)....

  The elderly lady got her money back, the others got a beating.

  Think they learned a valuable lesson.

  True story.

  One could say the young man was reckless, could of gotten stabbed. how confident he must of been in himself to do what he did.

  Or just 'mental' lol.

  In the world of cell phones, anyone could help.

  This is a big strong young construction worker

  armed with a hard hat and various tools, so he

  has not acted rashly since he has sized up the situation.

  Hammer to the head of attacking dog gets my vote.

  Some, not all, but some dog owners use their dogs as

  an extension of their own aggression or have a sense of

  entitlement that their dog comes first and should not be

  restrained in any way. Dogs can be dangerous and have

  and do, attack and even kill children and people every year.

  Many dog owners take offense at any restrictions put on dogs.
