Any news about Friday release - Study Guide for JW?

    News about Friday releases:

There are 2 new publications that came out.

In the morning it was a publication called "research guide for jehovah witnesses". The speaker said it wasnt a comprehensive guide to our beleiefs but it offers the most up to date refrences on many of our more asked about views. It it supposed to increase the quality of our personal worship and study. It will only be avalible online in the watchtower library in dec. The crowd was a little under whelmed at this revealing.

In the second half they revealed 5 new redesigned tracts. They seem bigger than im used to but maybe its just that i do not know how to fold them. They look alot better than the old ones we pass out. They are much more modern and fresh looking.

They are entitled: how do you view the future? What is the key to happy family life? Who really controls the world? Will suffering ever end? and how do you view the bible? They have similar names to the old ones but they have been completely rewritten and are considered to be brand new.

They have a new format in which it starts with a question, then it has a few short paragraphs and then a follow up question. It also comes with a coupon for the good news from god brochure. They will be demonstrating how to use the new brochure effectivley on saturday.

A new DVD: The Return of the Prodigal Son

Now in the actual Bible account, when the son returns, the father runs out to welcome his son back before he makes it all the way to the house. The father even orders a celebration!

So he rose and went to his father. While he was yet a long way off, his father caught sight of him and was moved with pity, and he ran and fell upon his neck and tenderly kissed him. Then the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Make me as one of your hired men.’ But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quick! bring out a robe, the best one, and clothe him with it, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fattened young bull, slaughter it and let us eat and enjoy ourselves, because this my son was dead and came to life again; he was lost and was found.’ And they started to enjoy themselves. - Luke 15:20 - 24

But in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses we find a stark contrast. When a "prodigal" one returns to the Kingdom Hall, the elders tell them to, "Sit down, be quiet and accept your shunning! It's discipline from Jehovah."

This psychological form of public flogging usually goes on for many months and maybe even a year or more. The "prodigal" one is required to make a written request asking for reinstatement into the congregation. The elders will often take weeks or longer to respond to each request; sometimes the forget entirely. They are after all, very busy "in the work of the Lord."

There is no set format for such a request. If it is too long, or too short, or contains words or scriptures the elders don't like, then they will use that as their "reason" for denying the request. Sometimes no reason is given for a denial other than, "It's too soon." He or she may have to make many repeated requests for reinstatement, each time hoping that this one will be "the one."

When the "prodigal" one has finally somehow proved their "repentance" to the elder body by means that no one can consistently and definitively describe, then the elders will magnanimously approve the "penitent's" request for reinstatement.

When the elders finally grant such a request, then they will make a public announcement giving permission for the congregation members to talk to you again. But after that, you'll still have restrictions on you for an indefinite period of time. BTW, you can forget about any party!

If this is really a Bible-based religion as they claim, then why don't the Bible account and JW practices correspond?

    What do you think?

The "research guide for jehovah witnesses" only online? :( Exact? Isn't a new book , only digital.

    And NNWT is missing ...

A new " Research Guide for Jehovah Witnesses " - wow! How exciting!!!

It will, I'm sure, ONLY include references to material published exclusively by the WTBTS, no outside sources. And of course, it will NOT include any WT material that is out-of-date or in any other way inconsistent with Present Truth.

So that means it will have a shelf-life of ... well, not every long. But since it's apparently an on-line resource, the WTBTS will be able to revise it whenever the need be to keep up with "revealed truth."

How happifying! It is from Jehovah and it is wonderful in our eyes!

"research guide for jehovah witnesses"? LOL, more like "Here is what you believe, take it or leave it"

Bad idea putting it online only. That leaves a truly curious JW a google search away from JWN, JWfacts.com, etc.

And five rehashed tracts? Great food at the proper time!

The NNWT was only a rumor, then.

I would imagine that for 85% of those that attended it would be a big let down....so more exits in coming months
