    Location...It is located in the northern most part of Norway, in the Arctic Ocean.

    Capitol...Longyearbyen is the capitol, with a population of 1,800.

    Major occupation...Coal mining is the #1 occupation of 80% of the population.

    What it is known for...Starting point for North Pole Expeditions.

    Hours of Sunlight...The midnight sun starts on April 20 and continues until August 23.

    Tours...Summertime tourist option is to take a Boat Safari to seek out Polar Bears.

    Travel into the Country...The cheapest way to afford to get to this country is to buy a Round The World (RTW) flight ticket.

    While visiting... Any travel outside the settlements will necessitate having a rifle (rentals are available) and a valid permit and knowing how to shoot said rifle. Professional guides are highly suggested.
