Even at a 1000 years, if that's all he did he would have a tall order of finding the creatures and coming up with ~30M individual names. He would need to classify about 100 every single day. Now where is that book he wrote with all those species, our scientists who have been working on this between 200 and 700 years already have only been able to classify about 1.5M.

    Adam never existed.

But if we're pretending he did exist, the answer is simple (and frequently used throughout the Bible):

    God did a magic thing.

The time it took Adam to name all the animals will equal the time between 1975 and armageddon. Adam was created then named the animals then he realized he was the only animal without a mate and God gave him Eve and the trouble started. If Adam had worked a bit faster we would all be sitting back with our pet lions by now.

Maybe he only named all the animals that was living around him in the garden, and maybe there was not as many species of animals as there are today. Just saying.

How come Adam didn't name the microscopic organisms? He never said nothin' about DNA, or HIV, or Ebola.

As it is a story and not fact Adam could have done anything he wanted. The genesis account is vague as to the animals that were created and certainly there is no record of Adam going out to sea to name the great sea creatures so it is just a device to move the story on.

After all if Adam named the animals why did people have to invent names when they discovered new ones?
