It's so long since I left this cult I just can't remember (happily ) but isn't all the blood stuff in the OT? Why are they clinging on to a Jewish food law when Jesus' coming was supposed to supersede all that?

It is a hard call with teens. They have some rights but never the sale as an adult. A few years ago someone in law school posted some cases on this issue. I was chilled to the bone when I read that a judge, presumably an adult, permitted a 14 year old boy to refuse transfusion. The lad died. God forbid that my 14 years. wishes were granted.

Hopefully this kid will make it and think about things by his 18th birthday. In the U.S., a judge would probably not force the transfusion upon a 17 year-old unless the kid was not very articulate about why he wants to refuse blood.
