hi allaccording to the WT the 144000 have to die to obtain their heavenly reward? but which part of them goes to heaven?their body can't and doesn't. i think that is discussed in 1 Cor 15: 50 somethingtheir soul is their body acc to their understanding of ne'phesh their spirit is just their life force and doesn't Psalms say that ALL of our spirits return to God in the sense that our hope of living again resides with him?so what is left?am i missing out on something?

According to JW teaching, Jehovah, in effect, re-creates them as spirit beings as he did with Jesus/Michael. So they get a new "spirit body" (a term that never appears in Scripture) that goes to heaven.

It is really nothing to worry about. Big J will take care of the details. You will know the moment after you drop dead.

Good question, how does the "physical man" become a spirit ?

The WT are extremely muddled on the whole question of the soul, primarily because their starting point in formulating their doctrine on the matter is the O.T where language is different, so statements like "Adam became a living soul" and "the soul that is sinning, it will die" are not to be viewed in the simplistic/literal way that the WT does. Most O.T writers, if not all, had no concept of a "resurrection" as the WT teaches.

An afterlife (spent anywhere) is a very doubtful prospect, no proof for it, or for the "soul" come to that, exists.

One day Science may tell us more, the bible and old religions will never be able to offer more than "faith".

Just their soul and carry-on. Their luggage follows in a couple of days.

I'm guessing the elbows and toes.

Their brains are dead, and their hearts are shriveled, so God won't want those.

WildeLover, you are asking a great scientific question.

Science has a long way to go in understanding the brain, but it is pretty clear that each person's essence, their personality, the thing that makes them special, is within their brain (and spinal cord) in the synapses and the way they fire and the chemical combinations within that brain.

Nobody continues to exist when they die. No decent explanation has surfaced from any spiritual beliefs on how that "essence" leaves the body and journeys elsewhere.

Nothing does, according to the wt. But, fortunately, jay hoover took a 3d snapshot of them, 'fore they kicked off. W that 3d pic, he does a 3d printing of them. Only, he doesn't use meat in his printer, he uses spirit ink.

Faith in the existance of God is first.

Remember ALL Watchtower doctrine is false, all of it.

So instead of trying to figure out what the Watchtower

means, if you believe in God, and you believe he spoke through

Jesus Christ, why not read directly what Jesus Christ said??

    Not some Watchtower version.

You can't start with a watchtower teaching and come up with truth.

You will find Jesus and the apostles and the disciples and

all the gospels talk about everybody being anointed

with holy spirit and putting on a spiritual form/body and existing in a new,

non-material body in a different dimension, place, than this one.

Forget what the Watchtower says about only a select few having life

in a spiritual form. It is not Biblical. And atheists here, are here

for what reason? I can't imagine why they bother.
