Well perhaps not directly to JWs but the speech within this video could very well..

One thing about Hitchens he had the veracity to cut open religious theocracy with

a sharp knife and expose it like no one else.

Hi Finkel, I thought Dr. John Lennox won (subjective nature to each I will say) the debate with C.H. Dr. John Lennox and Dr. Richard Dawkins is my favorite debate, the mutual respect they share and civil discussion. Have you watched the debates with Dr. Francisis Collins Director of NIH and "Human Genome lead scientist" and Dr. Richard Hawkins (God Delusion). The questions asked and how they were answered are not done in a heated rage we were told debates end up in

Interesting that he says 9/11 2001 was what motivated him to devote his time to fighting theocracy. Whilst the fanatics behind 9/11 thought they were delivering a message, it is backfiring. This prompted me to look at the census results from Australia, and the figures for No Religion were:

    1996 2.9 million

    2001 2.9 million

    2006 3.7 million

    2011 4.8 million

It is interesting to see such a spike since 2001, and the terrorist attacks may be what has made people take a stand against organised religion.

The building he was giving this discourse in actually reminded me of a large kingdom hall or a small Assembly Hall.

When the camera at the end showed the audience it even looked like how the rows of chairs at the K.H. were arranged.

Kinda ironic in a Hitchens sorta way. :)

His mentioning of apocalyptic religious organizations, could easy and correctly point to the JWS/WTS.

and its inherent theocracy. Damaging effects toward humanity can be seen from various religious sources,

since these religious institutions derive their doctrines from very old social and moral statues.

What Hitchens has said in this short speech and through others means of discourse is that many religious doctrines,

whether its from Islam and killing of infidels or from Christian based religions who espouse that the world is shortly to come

to an end, have real causative and detrimental consequences for humanity in general.

It was non-transparent government that destroyed the two towers not religion. Religion was used as a scapegoat.

Religion was used as a scapegoat.

Sab please don't derail this thread topic on 9/11 conspiracy theories.

Religion definitely played a large role in that attack.

The only partial connection that I can see in these attacks is that the US has been a long supporter of Israel

for many years, which has been known in most Islamic nations.

As well the known fact that the US has an overwhelming influence on UN directives and affairs and thats not really

    transparent at all.
