PS... no, I am not a Big Sister, but have spent several years volunteering with "youth-at-risk" and several years as a crisis intervenor on a sexual assault line.
Many teens and young people can benefit from having an older, grounded friend. You would be surprised at the benefits YOU would gain from establishing this kind of 'family by choice'. It can be a wonderful thing.
