50 Shades was 500 pages of boredom for about 10 pages of overwrought and ridiculous sex scenes. I'd second the vote for Exit to Eden or if you really want to read some freaky stuff, the Sleeping Beauty trilogy (also by Anne Rice).

My wife read all 3 of the Fifty Shades books, but she never read the Watchtower or Awake even when we were in. I read a couple of chapters and wasn't too impressed.

I wouldn't be shocked if some "in" JWs even read it on the sneak. Especially now that you can read on your ipad or Kindle and don't have to buy a bound book. I mean, the ban on porn doesn't mean all the elders and bethelites weren't watching porn on their computers. Why wouldn't the sisters be reading lady porn on their tablets? lol

I refuse to read them because I do judge them a bit...but my sister, who is still "in", has read them and she doesn't read anything! I like thrillers better like Dean Koontz and Ted Dekker.

I tried to read that book, the writing was so bad I was unable to get more than ten or fifteen pages. I am astounded it has become so popular. I have heard it's due to e-readers, that women are able to buy sexually graphic novels discretely
now. I have nothing against the concept, many women suffer from low sex drive, so I am all for it if it it helps women (and their partners) add some spice to their love life.

I just hope they come up with some erotic novels with better writing.

Methinks that's like asking for pornos to have better acting ;)
