That the deliverance of the saints must take place some time before 1914 is manifest, since the deliverance of fleshly Israel, as we shall see, is appointed to take place at that time, and the angry nations will then be authoritatively commanded to be still, and will be made to recognize the power of Jehovah's Anointed. Just how long before 1914 the last living members of the body of Christ will be glorified, we are not directly informed; but it certainly will not be until their work in the flesh is done; nor can we reasonably presume that they will long remain after that work is accomplished. So, then, if we measure backward down the "First Ascending Passage" to its junction with the "Entrance Passage," we shall have a fixed date to mark upon the downward passage. More recently, the book entitled "Famine-1975!" [by W. & P. Paddock, 1967, pp. 52, 55, 61.] said concerning today's food shortages:
"Hunger is rampant throughout country after country, continent after continent around the undeveloped belt of the tropics and subtropics. Today's crisis can move in only one direction - toward catastrophe. Today hungry nations; tomorrow starving nations.
By 1975 civil disorder, anarchy, military dictatorships, runaway inflation, transportation breakdowns and chaotic unrest will be the order of the day in many of the hungry nations."

More recent reports have shown that a constant lack of adequate food, resulting in chronic malnutrition, has become the "major world hunger problem today." The London Times reported:
"There have always been famines, but the scale and ubiquity [presence everywhere] of hunger today is on a totally new scale. . . . Today malnutrition is said to affect more than a thousand million people; perhaps as many as 400 million live constantly on the brink of starvation."-June 3, 1980.

I would love to have copies of those two editions, have one JW read out the paragraph from the 1904 edition and his field service partner read out the same paragraph from the 1910 edition and ask them for an honest explanation.
This comparison is proof of FRAUD, not mere "changed expectations" or "new light" regarding prophecy.
It's bad enough to change the date system from one edition of a book to another without being open about the fact that you have significantly changed your teaching. But at least there the WTS would have the argument that it was merely expressing greater understanding of prophesy and was not trying to mislead the reader.
However, the length of a passageway in the great pyramid is a matter of FACT, not of opinion or of prophetic understanding or subject to receipt of "new light." At least one of those reported lengths is FALSE (maybe both).
Does even the most diehard JW apologist really believe that Pastor Russell went back to Egypt, remeasured the pyramid passageway and found it to be 41 inches (3 feet, 5 inches) longer than the first time he measured it? Wouldn't honesty require a credible explanation as to how such a major change or error came about? Far from EXPLAINING this measurement change, the WTS did not even reveal to the reader that there had BEEN a change. A person who read only the 1910 edition would have no idea that the pyramid passageway somehow had somehow lengthened 41 inches.
Isn't it clear that the WTS first decided to change its date for the beginning of the period of trouble from 1874 to the end of 1914 and then FALSIFIED the "proof" by simply claiming a new length for the passageway, a length increased by the exact number of inches required to "prove" the date they wanted?
There is no escaping the conclusion that this falsification involved deliberate deception on the part of the author and of the organization that published the new edition.
Is this the sort of servant Jesus would select to represent Jehovah, be his spokesman, and be placed in charge of all his earthly affairs?

It's easy to explain that difference - one of those measurements is in "Pyramid Inches".

Your humorous comment brings up another issue.
Even if the pyramid were some sort of stone witness to God's prophetic plan (as Russell claimed), why would the measurement in INCHES be relevant?
Neither the ancient Egyptians nor the ancient Hebrews used "inches" as a measure.
The first recorded use in history of "inches" as a unit of measure was in the 7th century C.E. in England.
Could it be that Pastor Russell thought in terms of inches and made the whole thing up?
