Jack JWs - is this common?

    As a kid growing up in the South I was told just about all JW's in California were.

    The problem with being a "Jack JW" is that you have a network of spies who will report you to the elders if you cross the line. Sometimes just getting drunk is enough to have your ass reported to the local elders and then a committee can be formed against you.

    But the rules are unevenly enforced. If you haven't been to a meeting in a year and you get hammered with a few JWs, then for some reason they are more inclined to just let it go.

    LostGeneration, I think that's called 'selective drunkeness'. Yes, those spies would be a pain in the butt. My ex was told "he better get rid of me now" by a woman who was only studying with the JWs (the nerve). I think she liked him. He told her to mind her own damn business and get her own life in order. I thought it was all completely ridiculous. It's mind baffling to an outsider.
