Bungibill: I am hopeful that they will accept how I obtained my engineering knowledge - Electrical Trade , Advanced Trade Studies, followed by Specialist employer provided Technical Training, plus that provided by the various manufacturers of electrical plant - to be proof of a systematic study program.
Here goes anyway! Does anybody want to wish me luck?

Go for it mate! Don't let the bastards beat you. Do whatever you have to do to achieve your goal. I always wanted to study at a university, didn't pursue it because, the bloody "end of the world" was coming.

But here I am, near 80 and near to achieving my degree.

And, I tell you what! I'm not stopping with a BA, I'm going to continue and get a MA too

    berrygerry,

    Absolutely:

    - Watch out for the bloody carborundum!

    fulltimestudent,

Sad that it has taken you until almost 80 years of age before reaching the final stages of achieving your degree, but you show them! (which is the very best way of waving the good old two-fingered salute at those #&^*s who prevented you from attempting university studies in the first place).

    Bill.

The final piece to this has now been completed.

I have just received my certificate as an Associate Member of the Institute of Engineers:

    - some 39 years after it ought to have happened.

    (But better late than never!)

Major congratulations! It feels good, doesn't it?

I am not a crier, but I bawled like a baby when I finally got my degree. It's just that emotional.

    GrreatTeacher,

Yes, it is an emotional event, isn't it.
