First, don't be so upset. Remember that the Jehovah's Witnesses is a sect in the midst of other sects. No one, either in the past or present, teach that the Governing Body or any previous leaders have claimed to have revelation or divine guidance in the form of visions, angelic visitations, theophanies, dreams or voices. I can't speak for the GB members, of course, but they might point out that as long as the organization has been active, its leaders have been subject to the foibles of men. In other words, it's been a learning experience, and Jehovah has allowed people to fail in their pride yet succeed in building a viable and faithful avenue for Jehovah's people to prepare to meet the bridegroom.

There is a problem with existing as an organization (not "church") with an assumed authority. After all, Jehovah hasn't exactly communicated with them; hasn't conferred any ministerial or apostolic authority, nor has he signed off on any doctrines, exactly, but they're sound enough to show that no other church can compete with them. When Jesus began to rule invisibly back in 1914, he subsequently inspected all the religions of the earth. Almost certainly he chose the Watchtower Publishers. I mean, who else was he going to choose? Mormons?? Please! No, by process of elimination, the angels looked approvingly on the Organization and joined in a heavenly chorus of, "It Had to Be YOU!"

Something else to consider is that revelation isn't necessary required to build a committed Jehovah-oriented organization. Certainly it can happen circumstantially. In other words, with all the mistakes and errors of men, the Watchtower Organization is a journey, not a destination. So along the way it becomes more competent, more perfect. But it will never be truly perfect until Jesus comes and relentlessly destroys the fiendishly wicked...you know, murderers, rapists, believers in the Trinity and such. At that point, he will publicly acknowledge the Jehovah's Witnesses as his people and then the earth will become as the Garden of Eden and all the righteous will spend all eternity here, picking flowers and petting lions, tigers and other grazing animals. They'll also be able to ride the cows like horses...but they can't eat them. But why would they want to with all the tofu and soy beans being so plentiful?

Anyway, I'm sure that's what they'd say if they were here. And who knows? Maybe I'm one of them.

Don't think of it as being the blind leading the blind. Think of it as being someone with glasses leading the blind.

So, Cold Steel, in your role as JW/WT defender, do the GB/WT have any Authority over the 7mill plus JW's ?

If so how and when did they get it ? Jesus chose who just after 1914 ? Be careful not to insult the intelligence of Jesus.

Do they have any greater insight on what the Bible is teaching than say you or I, or anybody just plucked off the street ?

If so, how do they get their insight ?

They DO claim authority and demand loyalty, they do claim special insights, if you disagree you are flung out.

The bottom line is they cannot substantiate any of their claims. They are mere men prone to constant error, but are too proud and arrogant to see it.

How is it plausible that Jesus examined the WT in 1919 and found them worthy of approval?

In 1919 they were still celebrating birthdays and Christmas, had a masonic crucifix on the magazines, taught the Bridegroom had already come in 1874 so were not in expectation of him and therefore could not have been "happy" if "on arriving he found them watching for his return."

They believed strongly in occult Pyramidology, taught Jehovah lived in the Pleiades, taught that the ancients were to be resurrected in 1925 and so built a mansion for them to live in. They allowed smoking, pictured the Edenic snake with legs, said t he "behemoth" from Job 40 was the stationary steam engine, the "leviathan" from Job 41 was the locomotive and the "valiant men" in Nahum 2:3 are the locomotive conductor and the fireman.

They taught the horseman on the white horse in Revelation 6:2 is the Pope, the "7 messengers" in Revelation are Paul, John, Arius, Waldo, Wycliffe, Luther and Russell , the "stars that fell from the heavens" in Revelation 6:13 refers to a meteor shower on November 13, 1833, the “Time of the End” started in 1799, Michael the Archangel is “the Pope of Rome” and the angels are his bishops.

They promised that those alive back then would never die, saluted the flag, worshipped Jesus, said the "Great Crowd" was a second class of Christians with a heavenly hope and taught many, many things which would today see you disfellowshipped for teaching them.

Could it be that 2 Tim 3:7 applies?

(2Ti 3:7) "always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth."

Again, is it plausible that Jesus examined the WT in 1919 and found them worthy of approval?

Cold Steel: I can't speak for the GB members, of course, but they might point out that as long as the organization has been active, its leaders have been subject to the foibles of men. In other words, it's been a learning experience, and Jehovah has allowed people to fail in their pride yet succeed in building a viable and faithful avenue for Jehovah's people to prepare to meet the bridegroom.

The only important distinction between the GB and and any other organized leadership is the RESULT of the leadership itself.

What have the leaders CAUSED the faithful believers to occupy their time DOING?

Let's ask that and let's answer that, shall we?

Jehovah's Witnesses go door to door SPREADING their foibles and passing them off as true, urgent and exclusively from Almighty God.

When JW's get their message wrong---(this is important)---they are wasting their own time and misleading everybody they reach door to door.

When a member of Christendom believes something untrue--they don't go door to door and therefore are not BLOODGUILTY of rampant viral false teaching.

Haven't you heard? When you are sick with the plague--stay at home and don't risk others!

Mull that one over, will you?

Instead of calling themselves Jehovah's WITNESSES they should more accurately call themselves Jehovah's STUMBLERS.

Stumbling Jesus' "little ones" carries with it an extraordinarily severe pricetag!

How many times has a crazy disturbed person ended up killing other people AND THEN killing themselves?

What if they simply killed their own self and left the others out of it?

That is THE difference between believing a stupid, false, misleading religious doctrine and that of SPREADING it to others.
