There is a chart in the book "Life Everlasting in Freedom of the Sons of God" book that shows 1975 as the beginning of the thousand year reign.

I'm out of town now so can't give you the page number, but it's in the first part of the book. I remember studying that book--Clyde was the conductor--late 60's or early 70's.

Are we to assume from this study that the battle of Armageddon will be all over by the autumn of 1975, and the long-looked-for thousand-year reign of Christ will begin by then? Possibly, but we wait to see how closely the seventh thousand-year period of man’s existence coincides with the sabbathlike thousand-year reign of Christ. If these two periods run parallel with each other as to the calendar year, it will not be by mere chance or accident but will be according to Jehovah’s loving and timely purposes.

According to the Bible timetable, man’s history on earth has been nearly 6,000 years. Adam was created in 4026 B.C.E., which means that six thousand years of human history end about the fall of 1975 C.E. We are in the great 7,000-year rest day of God, starting at the time he rested after the creation of Adam and Eve. There are, therefore, a thousand years left to run.

Another speaker, F. W. Franz, the Society’s vice-president, forcefully impressed on the audience the urgency of the Christian preaching work. He stressed that, according to dependable Bible chronology, 6,000 years of human history will end this coming September according to the lunar calendar. This coincides with a time when “the human species [is] about to starve itself to death,” as well as its being faced with poisoning by pollution and destruction by nuclear weapons. Franz added: “There’s no basis for believing that mankind, faced with what it now faces, can exist for the seventh thousand-year period” under the present system of things.

Does this mean that we know exactly when God will destroy this old system and establish a new one? Franz showed that we do not, for we do not know how short was the time interval between Adam’s creation and the creation of Eve, at which point God’s rest day of seven thousand years began. (Heb. 4:3, 4) But, he pointed out, “we should not think that this year of 1975 is of no significance to us,” for the Bible proves that Jehovah is “the greatest chronologist” and “we have the anchor date, 1914, marking the end of the Gentile Times.” So, he continued, “we are filled with anticipation for the near future, for our generation.”—Matt. 24:34.

When it was released in 1966, the book Life Everlasting in the Freedom of the Sons of God immediately caused a lot of excitement among Jehovah's Witnesses with the mention of the year 1975 as the "appropriate" time for the beginning of a Jubilee rest for mankind. This is referred to on pages 26 to 30 (italics added):

The time is fast drawing near for the reality that was foreshadowed by the Jubilee of liberty to be proclaimed throughout the earth to all mankind.... Most certainly the near future would be the most appropriate time for it. God's own written Word indicates that it is the appointed time for it.... In this twentieth century an independent study has been carried on that does not blindly follow some traditional chronological calculations of Christendom, and the published timetable resulting from this independent study gives the date of man's creation as 4026 B.C.E. According to this trustworthy Bible chronology six thousand years from man's creation will end in 1975, and the seventh period of a thousand years of human history will begin in the fall of 1975 C.E..... So in not many years within our own generation we are reaching what Jehovah God could view as the seventh day of man's existence.
How appropriate it would be for Jehovah God to make of this coming seventh period of a thousand years a sabbath period of rest and release, a great Jubilee sabbath for the proclaiming of liberty throughout the earth to all its inhabitants! This would be most timely for mankind. It would also be most fitting on God's part, for, remember, mankind has yet ahead of it what the last book of the Holy Bible speaks of as the reign of Jesus Christ over earth for a thousand years, the millennial reign of Christ.... It would not be by mere chance or accident but would be according to the loving purpose of Jehovah God for the reign of Jesus Christ, the "Lord of the sabbath," to run parallel with the seventh millennium of man's existence.

(From Paragraph 6) Recall what Jesus said of himself: “Foxes have dens and birds of heaven have roosts, but the Son of man has nowhere to lay down his head.” (Luke 9:58) Jesus had the ability and the power to build or acquire the best house anyone could possibly have. Why did he not do so? Clearly, Jesus wanted to avoid any distraction and entanglement that would prevent him from putting the Kingdom first. Can we follow his example and keep our eye simple—free of materialistic entanglement and anxiety?—Matt. 6:33, 34.

*** w10 9/15 p. 23 par. 8 "Your Leader Is One, the Christ" *** The anointed and their other sheep companions recognize that by following the lead of the modern-day Governing Body, they are in fact following their Leader, Christ.

Does the Governing Body follow their Leader, Christ, and set the example for the domestics in this regard?

They are lords of a multi-billion dollar religious organization, they are practically viewed as gods by 7 million JW's around the world, they are building a paradisaic complex in upstate New York ( http://www.townofwarwick.org/wt_con/_Appendix%20M_SWPPP%20&%20Drawings.pdf ) complete with beds on which they can lay down their heads and picnic and park areas, they travel the world giving talks often in resort locations, stay in motels, are provided with food and clothing (and we're not talking suits from the sale rack at JC Penney's), medical care ... etc. .... and they have the nerve to counsel all of their domestics to keep it simple like Jesus. Hypocrites.

A strange article......This was part 2 of a study that was going to show ten specific marker events for the end of the system and the New World. Last week we had 5, this week 5 more ? These sub headings are not specific events though....very vague.

Paragraphs 8 and 9 talk about the animals: “Scientists who have lived closely with beasts and studied them have found that all mammals are emotional."

I guess we know that, we have all had pets and seen the films of protective mother tigers. They cite Isaiah 65

25 “The wolf and the lamb themselves will feed as one, and the lion will eat straw just like the bull; and as for the serpent, his food will be dust. They will do no harm nor cause any ruin in all my holy mountain,” Jehovah has said."

The verse mentions a serpent. I have never seen a loving python . Weird! I wonder if it will put off some prospective "studies"?

When I was a child I used to want a pet lion, but you grow out of these things, It seems that the G B never did.

Somebody told me this, and having taken a magnifying glass to the pic, it is true.. The top illustration of the N W on page 11 shows a man (right hand one) using a cordless power drill !

Under the sub-heading: ‘HE WILL WIPE OUT EVERY TEAR’

When reviewing paragraph 11, I couldn’t help but think of the thousands that have cried and wept bitterly-brought on by the countless premature deaths of JW friends and loved ones due to the WT’s unscriptural ‘no blood-transfusion’ policy.

Then there is the tremendous amount of crying and weeping we’ve all witnessed when a repentant JW has been publicly humiliated, disfellowshipped and shunned with in many cases years of no contact with loved ones.

Not to be overlooked is the grief that many today experience when they learn of friends and loved ones molested by a JW member, while WT sits idly by refusing to administer justice on behalf of those violated.
